Q:why is no water coming from above ground water pump tank but the pump is running w/ no pressure on gauge?
There are several possibilities as to why you have no water pressure. The pump could have lost it's prime, there could be a crack or loose connection between the well pipe and the pump, resulting in pumping air instead of water, the jet in the pump could have been plugged by a flake of rust broken off the inside of the pump housing, or, if you have a fairly old system, like mine, your air volume control, (a little round silver object screwed into the side of the resevoir tank), could be bad. Did this just happen all of a sudden, are you trying to open up a cottage for the summer that's been shut down all winter, was it pumping recently??? More info would be helpful.
Q:What is optimal on/off cycle for well water pump?
There is no optimum time. This is dependent on several factors. Assuming you are pumping into a small tank which is pressurized by the inflow of water from the pump (and the pressure also controls the pump) these reasons can be excessive use of water, the air space at the top of your tank has been absorbed into the water over a period of time and the volume of compressed air too small causing the pressure to drop too fast, or you could have leak in your water piping. If there is not enough air space in your tank, the pump will cycle extremely fast. If you don't have a tank, then the above information is incorrect. Good luck.
Q:can a leaking water pump make you lose power?
Fill it back up with water. you can cause serious damage by driving this car. It will vapor lock.
Q:Could a broken water pump cause hydrocarbons to appear in coolant?
A bad water pump can not put hydrocarbons into the cooling system. I had a blown head gasket on my car and it had hydrocarbons in the cooling system.
Q:My circuit breaker for my water pump is wet and pops? What should I do?
You really need to get an experienced Electricain there. Seems you have water that has worked its way into the electrical panel. And electricity and water does not mix. If you are comfortable working with this panel its really simple fix. First disconnect the wires on the breaker that is popping. As you look at the breaker the side opposite of the wires, you will need to pull up and then out to remove the breaker. Use a electrical cleaner, brake cleaner, starting fluid, anything that does not leave a residue and clean the breaker well. Also look for any water in the enclosure and spray it down until the water is gone. Depending on how much mositure you have, you may be able to use a towel to soak up some of the moisture in this panel. Be very careful because there is live voltage still in the enclosure.
Q:Is my water pump failing?
Not it's because you have a cracked cylinder head. Does the exhaust spew out a lot of white smoke? Edit: Having a blown head gasket does not explain the missing coolant. If you had a misfire or the engine was struggling a little then yes the head gasket would explain that. If you've never seen white smoke from the exhaust or under the hood, then I would say it is because the fan is not working properly. The gurgling that you hear is the boiling water going from the radiator to the reservoir tank. It is probably overfilling the reservoir tank and evaporating as well.
Q:About drive-belt, timing belt, and water pump of a Tpyota Sienna?
When I change timing belts, I don't change water pumps. Since I do my own maintenance, I'm willing to spend another 4-5 hours tearing things apart to change the water pump if it subsequently fails. If I were paying a shop to do it, I'd have all the work done. Since the water pump is a moving part with bearing, its going to fail. Will it fail at 80k or 180k? Hard to tell. If you're willing to take the chance that it won't fail and are willing to pay the extra money to take it all apart again if it does, then don't change it. A better way to think of it might be in terms of how long you plan to own the vehicle. If you want to keep driving it another 100k miles, then I'd change it out now, if you plan on selling/trading it in in a couple more years, guess I'd be more inclined to skip it. Hope this helps.
Q:velosity of water pump of dirrrent pipe like suction & delivery?
Q:How to select the pump model?
Pump selection parameter:1, lift, if the head is large, the use of multi-stage vertical centrifugal pump, if the head is small, the use of horizontal axial flow centrifugal pump2. Displacement3, suction stroke, if the suction range is short, select the submersible pump, suction distance, select centrifugal pump
Q:How serious is a broken water pump on a car?
This Site Might Help You. RE: How serious is a broken water pump on a car? I recently took my 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix in for an oil change, and was told that my water pump has burst. I knew something happened the previous night because all of a sudden my car was overheating and when I opened the hood there was water everywhere, Anyways I am currently a single mom, working...
