(sometimes the manufacturer can upgrade them but only certain Dells or Alienware) You might be able to depending on the model, usually the processor lies under the keyboard so you'll have to look up how to remove the keyboard usually but you can't always remove them and you can't always use just any processor, some laptops can use a standard desktop processor and some laptops can just use mobile processors, in rare instances, some can use both.

- Yes it is a very promising brand. Lenovo is one of the top brands out there. I have an Asus zenbook I purchased 3 months ago and I am impressed. It even has 1080p display. I am struck by it's beauty and design. No optical drive with this Ultrabook. Samsung is known for its display. My next laptop is going to be a Lenovo with an optical drive. Acer belongs in the lower tier. Don't compare Acer with Asus.
