- Q:I'm moving away to college in September and I don't know what to get. I want something to sleep on thats a decent size off the ground, comfy, can fit two people on it comfortably and isn't expensive. What should I get and does anyone know where I can get it at a good price?
- Go with the futon. They make really nice ones these days, not the traditional ugly wood frame and boring mattress thing over it. Some look like couches that just fold open into a bed, those are the nice ones... especially the tufted ones. Not only are futons nicer, they're cheaper than sofa beds. They're also weigh a lot less. Sofa beds are HEAVY. And of course, also, futons can double as sofas, saving you space. Good luck!
- Q:How do you keep it clean and is it necessary to use leather conditioner all the time?
- Leather is great and wears well especially if you have kids. Kids get fabric really dirty, tear it and then what do you have left? At least with Leather, the older it gets, the better it looks. Most stuff cleans off of it pretty easy. Grease is a little more difficult, but you can use leather conditioner and it does a good enough job! Just buy good leather, not cheap. You will not be sorry.
- Q:What is the difference between a sofa and a settee?
- Sofa, settee AND COUCH - all mean the same thing. Well they do in England anyway. A chesterfield on the other hand must be made from leather and be of large proportions.

- I love the first one, it looks comfortable and homely. The second is too stylish, and you will have to make sure your whole room is decorated to fit.. By the way, white is a very sensitive colour.

- Your color choice of sage/olive green is good and camel would also look great. If your red sofa has not got a pattern on it, then your curtains could have a pattern. That way it would not look so plain. Also, one nice print on the wall that brings the color of the sofa and curtains together would give it a cohesive look. Good luck

- best bet is a flea market. I found mine at a flea market. I LOVE my sofa..its 7 feet long, olive green, really low and it came with a matching chair. I got both for one hundred dollars. The only thing is..its old.. but it was in fabulous shape and it is retro. And it stunk. haha, i left it on my front porch to air out for a week, then I put it in my house and it got my live in smell. I wouldnt part with it for anything. Plus i got a bunch of throw pillows and it adds punches of color. I get compliments on my set all the time. I swear, its a one of a kind.

- I used a twin bed as a sofa when I first moved into my house. What I did was get a king/queen sheet and fitted it to the bed(I sewed it up so that it looked like a big cushion.) Then I added two body pillows. The couch was against two walls so the pillows rested against the walls. On the other small side I put a roll pillow like an arm rest.

- Frankly, I don't think you are going to get anywhere with this. I would try to see if they would give you some money instead of recovering the sofa. If you get it recovered, the recovered parts won't match the rest of it. I'd see if they will give you a cash settlement. These kinds of warranties are really not worth much! Ask for cash!

- Wipe down the sofa with warm water on a soft rag. Consider washing it with saddle soap. I have only used it on shoes, handbags and boots, so no idea how long this will take. You can find it with shoe police at your local store. Or there may be some type of leather treatment cream that will restore the look of your sofa. As for the dog, consider getting a blanket that stretches all the way across the seat of the sofa, fold it in half lengthwise, and insert long pieces of aluminum foil between the layers. Put this on the sofa. Dogs and cats hate it and will avoid the sofa. It will protect the sofa when you cannot. Be sure to tuck it in firmly around the edges when you are not at home. (It will look fine if you choose a blanket that goes with the decor; try it first with something you have on hand.)

- Yep - I had a Flexsteel sofa from the 70's. I just got rid of it about 4 years ago - not because it went to hell, but the color was just so out of style and I couldn't stand looking at it anymore! (gold and green) Flexsteel is not the top of the line, but I have to admit - It went through 2 kids and 6 pets and it lasted.
