I would keep looking until I found a sofa that was both attractive and comfortable. Have you tried a good leather sofa? The stores that specialize in them have many to choose from according to your size.

Q:So my mom is giving me her three person sofa. I'm looking for a website that sells covers for STRAIGHT ARM furniture! Its an ugly green tan color that has yellow gold embroidery(obviously really old). Every time I look up furniture covers, its like all they make is covers for furniture with these rounded arms. My sofa I'm about to inherit doesn't have rounded arms! Uhh the lack of diversity in soda covers is killing me! I think I know to what you are referring. The arm is narrow, and does not roll outward from the seating. Do the seat cushions wrap around the front of the arms, or do they fit inside? The first is a T-cushion and the second is a box cushion. Because so much of the furniture of the last couple of decades had arms that took up almost as much space as a seat, much of the available slipcovers are designed for them. I have some links below that may help you better describe your sofa. If you do a search with the proper terms you may get a match you want. Try different search engines (Google, Bing, Ask, etc.) as they sometimes use different criteria and bring up slightly different sites. I would suggest you choose a slipcover with separate cushion covers. The cushions keep the rest of the slipcover in place. Everyone I know who has had slipcovers found the one-piece covers slip around as much as a throw, and so needed straightening after every use.

Q:I recently purchased a microfiber sofa and declined the fabric protection - I guess that's the first mistake. I've had the sofa a little over a week and there are four-five huge blue/black spots on the sofa!!! No one has spilled anything and we can not figure out where these stains are coming from. For instance, I fell asleep on the sofa last night and when I woke up this morning, there was a huge blue spot under the space I sat. I was wearing grey pants so I can't figure out where the blue is coming from. There was also a spot under where my feet were and I was wearing white socks so its not my clothing fabric bleeding onto the sofa. I am at a complete loss! My cover doesn't come off to wash and I don't know how to get rid of these spots but I'm furious after paying so much money for a sofa that these spots are showing up, seemingly out of nowhere. Any enlightenment would be welcome!

heavily in simple terms with a scrubber, towel or rag, and dish cleansing soap. I actual have 2 tan microfiber sofas and loopy 2 and 11 12 months previous ladies, and my sofas get DISGUSTING! All I could do is get on my knees for quarter-hour with a bowl of sudsy water, a green and yellow dish scrubber (you already know the form), and and previous rag or towel to form of take in the surplus water from the sofas when you scrub. start up rubbin' and scrubbin' with the scrubber. you ought to use the golf green component for the hard crust. It wont harm the sofas. Blow some followers on them once you end in case you have them- the two way they'll dry exceptionally at as quickly as- reliable as new- with out watermarks or anthing! Yippee!

Q:I am looking for a new couch and loveseat. When I look at furniture websites they offer sofas and sleepers. I am somewhat confused on the differences since the both have identical measures and they don't have foldout beds in them.

All sleepers do have a pull out mattress under the cushions. All sofas are just a sofa to sit on and do not have a pull out mattress under the cushions. If you do not need a sleeper, do not get one because sleepers really do not make for comfortable sofas which you will be using regularly. A sleeper is good in a back room that is not used often and is more so used for sleeping when guests arrive for an overnight stay.

Q:A visitor sat on our beige color sofa, made of micro fiber, leaving behind a patch of stains. She later told us that she has a skin condition that requires massaging with some oil.The sofa cover is fixed (not the removable washable kind) and we need to clean it. Is there any special chemical solution that helps remove the stain? Professional cleaners here in Germany charge a fortune for such a service.

my father in law is famous for not taking off his shoes when he comes into the house, no matter what is on them, or how many times we ask. he has brought in every kind of stain immaginable. the best thing that i have found to work on it all is a product called oxi clean. use the powder form of it. what we do, is put a scoop in a bowl, with some water, then scrub it out with a bristle brush. scrub as much as you can out, but know that oxi clean does a lot of the work while it's drying. you may need to do it 2x, but it should do the job. good luck!

Q:I have one of those crappy ikea beds with the pine slats that hold up the single mattress. Instead of tossing it, I would like to convert it into a sofa. If I can chop it up and make it work it would be a fun and rewarding project. Any plans or suggestions would be great. Thanks my people!

mrriskey007 Great idea. Most of the work is already done. Chop it so that you have the correct porportion back to seat. Move the back's legs to the position for the seat's rear legs. Consider adding a middle set of legs. Obtain a new spar that will run the sofa's length and it will be the seat's rear frame. Install, maybe, the middle leg to it. The back's connection to the seat's rear might be as simple as a 1/2 thick piece of plywood used as a gusset. Picture a 45 degree x 90 degree triangle with the short leg fastened to the seat rear and the long leg fastened to the back. Size the triangle for best strength. Adjust the 90 degree angle for the best back to seat angle. Glue and screw seat frame to gusset as well as the back. Gusset will also help to contain seat's cushions. Will need two of these, one for each end of the sofa (duh). Might consider one for the center for additional strength of the the back to seat (plus the middle leg if needed). Whalla -- done. Sofa arm rests at its ends are simple to add too. Select a piece of stock that will be the sofa's seat front leg extention as an upright for the front of the arm rest. Select stock for horizontal part of the arm. Consider using a gusset to connect those to pieces. Connect the arm to the rear of the sofa which is the back frame. Q:I have a cream sofa, it has crayon food stains on ive tried cleaning it with stain remover but it never takes it all off and i cant afford to pay someone to clean it, any suggestions on what might work?

You could try a damp microfiber cloth for the food stains and ironing over an old tshirt for the crayon stains and then a microfiber cloth and rubbing alcohol.

Great color. Design LOOKS COOL, but as a sofa doesn't look very comfortable to settle down in to watch tv or a movie. As far as the bed part, if it's only for use for the occasional guest, it should be alright. If it's going to be used all the time, you're going to see dips in it when you close it up to use it as a sofa.
