- Do you live near a field of some sort? Sounds like you're always going to have to have traps out to control the mice in your area. Get a cat, make sure it has a nice scratching post and train it to use it so it won't scratch your sofa.
- Q:My wife and I purchased a velvet chenille sofa a while back, and have noticed that whenever any liquid (even just water) gets on the sofa, it leavs a spot. - Q:Here are the details of measurements:Sofa: 75 W x 36 D x 30 H (28 with legs off).Doorway: 29 W x 79 HHallway leading to doorway: 29 W x 90 H.All measurements in inches. Not concerned about other entry ways. Basically, seems to me that I should be able to pivot the sofa in through the door If I stand it on its end, put the back in the door first and then pivot the seat portion in.Any thoughts from any movers out there?
- Is the hallway a straight shot? If it curves at the door you will have more difficulty. Also, do you have a straight shot after you get through the door? If the sofa is material and stuffed you have a little more give. You stand the chance of damaging the sofa a little also on the door facing especially if it is leather. You should be able to fit it in. It is a lot easier if you have more than one person moving the sofa.

- Double sided tape, tin foil, mothballs... some things cats don't like to mess with. You can get double sided tape at a hardware store or a craft store much cheaper than the pet store. Also, you can make or buy a scratching post for the cat to use when you get a new sofa. Find out what material the cat likes to scratch on and cover a piece of wood or a pre made post with that material.

- Leather, leather, leather! We have two children, 3 dogs and a cat, dark leather(either chocolate brown or black) is the way to go! If something gets spilled, it's easy to wipe up! The dog smells won't seep into the leather as easily, all you have to do is take an leather safe uphostery cleaner to it once or twice a week, pledge would even work. Just wipe it down like your wiping down the counter or something, this will help keep any kind of funky smells to a minimum. When you have leather, you don't have to worry about shampooing or any of that mumbo jumbo! Just wipe it and vacuum it out once in a while. Hope this is helpful, good luck finding the right couch.
