Q:I've just thrown a sofa away due to mice nesting there and i'd like to know how to protect my new leather one. I have taken all other precautions to avoid mice but wondered if there's a spray or anything i can use as a deterrent? My mother bought a red sofa 4 years ago and to this day it still looks new and she just always uses the scotch brite on it , and every so often she has to do it again but it is so worth it Also when you wash the cover always wash it in cold water with wool lite or a mild detergent , and dry it on the air dry setting , and it should keep its color .

If you are really married to an American soldier, they should have sent you the information you need. He should have given you all the information you need. If not, then someone isn't doing their job, including him. He should have set you up with all you needed. It is their duty to provide their families with all their contact information and where to go if their families need help while they are away. Your husband is wrong for not doing this for you before he left. Anyway, go to the nearest military facility. You will need proof of your husband's service and a form of proof you are his wife. If you REALLY are a military wife, you know what form of proof I am talking about. I find this really strange for any military wife to not know how to contact her husband or how to get the information needed to get to him. If you are for real, they have completely disrespected you and you HAVE to go to the military base and demand they help you. *******EDIT******** Okay, there is ALWAYS a way to contact a military facility. If he doesnt seem to use one all that much, try another. Also, theres ones with catnip built in, or catnip sprays to attract them to the posts. You can use things like sticky paws, which is a sticky strip you put on the furniture or what have you [cats cant stand the sticky feeling on their paws]. You can try X mats, which are plastic x's with spike like nubs on them. And, if all else fails, you can try the method that i think is mean. Spray him with water when he does it. Some people like this method, i say its cruel. But, im giving you all your options, and letting you decide for yourself.
