Q:The fuse seems fine. What else should I check?
The windshield wiper drive motor. If the switch sends the signal to spray water, the GM turns on the pump and motor. It's unlikely that there is a break in the wire to the motor and not the pump. The motor probably took a dive in the shallow end. Remove the LF microfilter housing to kinda see it. Best of luck.
Q:My son has a ‘98 Saturn. The windshield wipers go down too far on the passenger side and almost sit on the hood. When they wipe, the drivers side wiper doesn‘t swipe all the way over.it finishes it‘s pass about six inches from the edge of the windshield. There‘s got to be a simple way to adjust them but I don‘t know howany ideas?
There is only one way to 'properly' perform that adjustment. At the base of the wiper arm (where it pivots) there will be a nut underneath the plastic cap. It is usually a 13mm (size socket you will need). Simply hold the wiper arm and loosen/remove this nut (counter clockwise). Some wiggling will pull the entire arm off so you can reposition it better. Truly there is no adjustment and if the arm has never been removed due to bodywork or glass replacement, it is most likely bent.
Q:I bought a used Accord about 3 months ago, and I have noticed that, when I use the wipers, they make a loud banging sound when returning to their original position. They do a good job of clearing off the water, though, and the bang only seems to happen when I‘m driving (if I‘m sitting still at a light, the bang is noticeably reduced). What would be causing this? Should I get new wipers? Is it a motor issue?
It's important that you make sure that your windshield is very clean and free from wax and regular road grime. You can buy a regular windshield cleaner or I use alcohol pads to really get mine clean. I also use these pads to clean the blade itself every now and then as a precaution. The Rain-X is a really good idea too.
Q:Parts: Floor mat, Windshield wiper, plastic cover for the light on inner roof, center arm rest, cig lighter. I live in Milford, Ohio.
I'm guessing you have a coupe? I have one too its kinda hard to find some parts. You just have to keep looking.
Q:I put the turn signal on and as i get into the turn the wipers come on for about four to five seconds then stop
it is probly a problem in the steering colom most likely a wire has be cut or the coating around the wire is gone take the colom apart and check it out if it is just a wire that is cut or coating is off get some electrical tape and tape it up but make sure that it is still connected the wires that is good luck:)
Q:We found a nest with eggs on the windshield wipers of our camper and we need to move it but I would like to do it without causing the mother bird to abandon it. Does anyone know how to do it? (We have to get the camper out of the storage it is currently in so we can‘t wait a month for the babies to leave :(
That is a very tricky situation. And unfortunately the nest is likely to be abandoned if you move the camper no matter what you do. A mother bird knows her nest is her nest because if its exact location, and she probably uses the camper as her main reference point. Without the camper there she'll have no idea where her nest could be even if her nest is easily within view, because her nest is on the windshield wipers of a camper and that nest she sees is clearly not on the windshield wipers of a camper. There is a minuscule chance that if you were able to remove the nest intact and place it on something else so that it is in exactly the same spot, minus the camper, that she would recognize the nest and return. However, this is extremely unlikely. Such a large change to the area around the nest is likely to completely disorient her even if the nest itself is in the right spot.
Q:I used to be able to get my Jeep Wrangler wiper arms off easily with just a flathead screwdriver, I sort of pry it off. That doesn‘t seem to work with this Dodge truck.
I'm assuming that they're similar to the wiper arms on my 89 Dodge Dakota. I had trouble with them when i first got the truck to, but anyway, there's a little spring loaded clip on the underside of the wiper that grabs onto the rotating wiper arms that are sticking out of the cowl. You just pull back the clip and pull the wiper arm off. Mark where the inside of the wiper arm should mesh with the things sticking out of the cowl panel so you don't have to go through the trouble of readjusting the wiper arms when you put them back on. Good luck.
Q:how do you change a windshield wiper motor in a 1995 ford taurus?
remove wiper arms remove hood there is black plastic under wiper arms under there is a black cover on the firewall with 1 or 2 bolts in it and on the drivers side there is the motor it has 3 bolts and a wire harness also there is a clip on the wiper motor assembly remove then install in reverse
Q:I have a 2004 Lexus ES330, just bought it used. I love it but the goofy automatic windshield wiper setting doesn‘t seem to work at all. (Why anyone would want an automatic raindrop sensor is beyond me, but I digress). Any ideas on how to troubleshoot it before I take it to the Lexu$ dealer? Thanks!
Usually when the windshield is replaced the automatic wiper sensor is installed without a a gel pad, or incorrectly. If not then the sensor is bad. This part is best installed by a Lexus technician, and is a dealer only item, ie it can only be purchased through lexus.
Q:The windshield wipers on my 95 chrysler lebaron won‘t turn on and it needs new wiring.
