I just put a new water pump in my jeep and after I put it in I ran it and it seemed to have a small leak while it was running it seems like it was coming from the crank which is under the water pump so it might be a leak coming from the bottom of the pump. When I turn the car off it is no longer a leak its more like pouring water out. What do you think it can be? I put a gasket and the blue silicone gasket sealant all around it and on it before I put it in so I have no idea. Thank you for the help.
Sound like the new water pump is junk. The water is leaking out of the weep hole. That is a hole designed to leak when the pump bearing is going bad. It is a safety precaution so you don't fry the bearing and lock up your pulley system.
My 1999 ford taurus WATER pump and serpentine belt need to be replaced because I can't stir the stiring wheel .... Would you know approximately how much this could cost so I dont get ripped off ??? I know nothing about cars... and this mechanic is saying between 300$ to 400$ and that is wayyy too expensive . It was kinda obvious to him that I know nothing about carsTHANKS A LOT!!!
Don't you really mean timing belt, water pump, and serpentine belt? Last time I paid someone to do that it was $415, and they reused my serpentine belt so add ~$20 extra for that. That was on an Escort, but I assume any other front wheel drive car would cost about the same.
How long should it take a mechanic to replace a water pump on a 96 dodge intrepid ES with a 3.5L engine? I was given a estimate of 6 hours does it really take that long? at 100.00 a hour I'm not sure my car is worth fixing
Well I have a 97 and the water pump was 80.00 installed by me. It has the 3.3 V6, very simple to do oil changes spark plugs air filter It is a very well built car. Replacing the timing belt would be a very stupid idea - that guy knows nothing about cars at all. As long as you stay away from the 2.7 litre engine you will be fine. Mine is now at 165000 miles original engine/trans I just replaced the front wheel bearings and struts. Totalling 275.00 - I installed. Then 40.00 for the alignment.
I have a four cylinder ranger with manual transmission. The top pulley was making a squeaking sound the other day and stopping and going. The car stalled out so I had to give it gas for about a minute, and this has happened several more times in the past week. And the car is making a somewhat loud rumbling/clanking noise, which I'm guessing is the bearings on the water pump. So my question is how much will a new water pump cost, I've seen prices quoted on here from $150-$700. Also, it was in the mechanic the other week and I asked him to check the ac compressor and he said it was fine.Thanks
Why not call your mechanic for an estimate? He's (or she's) already familiar with your vehicle. Also, they may determine that it's something other than you water pump.

Because it is not matching the motor frequency conversion, the frequency of power supply unchanged, the motor speed will not change.2, the flow of water pump down, the reason may be that the impeller due to cavitation or wear and tear smaller, second, the gap between the impeller housing change, and the impeller plug foreign bodies, and some of the suction port leak.3, it is possible that the whole system resistance increases, so that the work point of the pump left.

A = π(.065)? = 0.0133 m? one meter of pipe has a volume of .0133 m? 4300 m? are pumped per day The water in that one meter of pipe has to be changed 4300 / 0133 = 324000 times per day to handle the flow That is 324000 / (24*3600) times per second or 3.75 times per second. Since the section of pipe is is 1 meter, that is 3.75 meters per second.

OK so i am new to RVing....I have an older 1971 trailer pull forester....It has a your normal fresh water inlet on the outside of the trailer, fresh water tank, and water pump. My question is actual a double part question #1 When i screw the hose on the inlet and start filling the water tank i hear it going in but i still have no water coming out the faucet...Does this have to do with the water pump? why am not getting water to anything except i hear the tank filling up?!?#2 Is the Water pump A/C or D/C......I have that little pull knob (that i guess turns it on or off) and i was curious if i needed to be hooked up to the Battery in front to make this work? or should it work with the regular AC that everything else is working on?Thanks for any help
There should be a switch to turn on your water pump and they are normally 12 Volt.There should also be a separate battery that runs all the 12 Volt systems in your RV.When you turn on your water pump it should build up pressure then shut off.It will turn back on as you use it.I think they are set at 40psi.I think you are going to find that you either have a dead battery or your pump is no good.The battery is usually located in a side compartment.Good luck.
