Maintainance guide:
Make sure that you regulaly clean the wood floors in order to prevent dust accumulation. We recommand to clean a small part
of stains as a testing ground to prevent too much chromatic aberration.
Dust and stain— use a hard brush dipped in warm soapy water to remove it.
Mildew— scrub with ordinary wood mode class agents, or bleach to rinse or wipe it directly.
Chalk stains—In addition to the while chalk, other colors can not be removed, you can use bleaching agent with hot soapy
water to wash it.
Ice or snow—Apply calcium chloride or rock salt, it can melt ice or snow, then use hot soapy water to wash it.
Stain soil and dirts— Apply detergent, which contains oxalic acid or phosphoric acid. Whiping the stain for 10-15 mins.
Greasy and oil-based stains—immediately use household cleaning products with hot soapy water to wash it.
Juice and wine stains—Mixed the bleach stain agent and hot soapy water to dilute the stain and wipe.

- Q:Im looking for a old floor tile . That they use back in the 70s and 80s. It call k36 parquet flooring. I use it to patch flooring with out changing the hole floor. It is called k36 9x9 Tung& Grove floor tile. Do you where i can get some.
- Try checking on TV programs like This Old House, and places like Habitat Restore Call your local Habitat for Humanity , if you don't find their restore in your phone book. Look in old DIY magazines for place that sold the flooring at the time. They may still be in operation and sell what you are looking for. Short of that, a master carpenter should be able to make you some repacement pieces. My Dad was a master carpenter....thats how I know IT CAN BE DONE !!! Just be sure you get one who knows what he is doing...there are some carpenters that aren't worth the sawdust in their clothing or ears. Check with a local reputable carpenter shop, they may have a carpenter willing to work on the side to help you out. I would recomend my Dad but he is now with The Master Carpenter and has been for many years now. Parquet flooring is beautiful flooring. But if all else fails; buy the thin parquet flooring to match and fill in with some plywood as back filler. Depending on the thickness of the original flooring, you can use several thin layers of plywood or one thickness plus a thin to get the right thickness. Example: 3/8 ths + 1/4 th, 5/8ths +1/4th, or several of the 1/4 th inch plywood. You may have to sand it down a tad depending.... Hope this helps you out...I tried to think of as many places as I could. Oh, try salvage stores...sometimes they are are almost as good as the Habitat Restores. :-)

- Q:I have an old house and when we pulled up the 3 layers of tiles the concrete is black. This is from the stuff they used way back when to lay tile. In my research I have found all kinds of stuff on how to paint new cement. Can I just paint or stain it after I clean the floor. Or do I have to get all the black stuff off the floor first.
- You can try the rubberized paint meant for garage floors, it is durable and comes in many different shades/colors/textures. Just be sure that the floor is as clean as possible before applying this (or any) paint to the cement since the ability of the paint to stick to the cement will depend upon how clean and residue free the cement base is. Look into acid washing the cement to create a good, clean surface for your final finish.
- Q:could u build a stair case on top of the floor without messing the floor up?
- Not a smart idea. The whole idea of a floating floor (another term for glueless laminate) is that the floor moves as it expands and contracts with temperature changes. That's why you have to leave a quarter inch gap around the parimeter when you lay the floor. Fastening anything permanent to the floor will limit that movement and eventually cause the floor to buckle. Always best to do it right the first time instead of cutting corners. Happy staircase building, I don't envy you!
- Q:I have laminate flooring my in my bathroom. The seem appears to have warped, How do I seal the seem once again? It is a wooden style flooring (but not the snap together type)
- Laminate floors are not actually wood. Engineered floors have a thin layer of wood on top. Hardwood floors are all wood. Laminate floors are only a picture of wood on top of a substrate. That substrate is usually something called MDF. MDF will swell when it gets wet. This is likely your problem. There is no repair except for replacing those sections. Tongue and groove laminate is glued together making this almost impossible. If you had hardwood floors they could be sanded and refinished. If you have engineered floors they might, or might not be able to be refinished, depending on the thickness of the veneer on top. Sorry for the bad news.

- Q:I'm interested in installing cork flooring. I've been told that it acts as a sound barrier. I have a new home, the master bedroom is above the kitchen and the genius builder didn't insulate between the floors. It doesn't matter how softly or hard someone walks across the floor, it wakes me up b/c of the noise but also b/c of the vibration. Will cork flooring reduce the vibration and noise?
