Q: Last night around 11:30, my dad woke up and told my mom to clean the floors. He said it was a mater of life and death, and when she refused, he locked her outside her room. He then slammed my sisters door over and over again and threw random stuff. He then started mopping all the floors over and over again, and opened all the windows. I haven't seen him at all today. What the heck is going on?
He a sleepwalker..?
Q: I just had tile put down in my kitchen. And I hate it, Some of the squares are cracking and the floor is hard to keep clean.I need to know another flooring that will be good for high traffic in the kitchen. The main flooring under the tile is plywwod that's what all the floors are made of in my house. Is that gonna be a problem no matter what floor I choose?
Kitchens are high traffic areas and all flooring will take a beating over time. Tile is usually the best option but vinyl, hardwood, cork, concrete, paper bags?!?(saw this on another ?) and more are making the way into flooring. Research your options. As for the tile. You shouldn't put down tile directly over plywood. You will need to redo it with a cement backer board like Hardi-Backer or Durock.
Q: We're putting in Pergo flooring. Just wondering how everyone cleans theirs.
Cheap solution to replace those expensive PERGO flooring cleaners. 1/3 part white vinegar 1/3 part rubbing alcohol 1/3 part water 3 drops diswashing liquid Mix this into a spray bottle and you have the equivalent of the Pergo floor cleaner. Just spray and mop; also great for deodorizing a room and for a fast cleanup. I also use this on my tile floors with great results. Pergo is better off when water doesn't sit on it too long, the alcohol is added to make it dry faster. And it won't leave your floor sticky either.
Q: living room and bedroom have really bad stripped wood floors whats the best way to get the shine and strength back to them? ive tried mop and glow pledge floor cleaner and murphys oil and none have worked
Since the floor is already partly striped you will need to get the rest of the old finish off. Once the old finish is off, you may need to sand the floor to make it nice and smooth. Clean the dust up real good and put down a good sealer or sealer/stain combo. Once you have that done then you can put down a good wax and you should be in good shape. If the floors have a lot of traffic on them you might ask for a wax like is used on a gym floor. It will last longer than a bottle wax but it isn't real cheap. Just ask the folks where you are buying it and they can tell you. Just make sure the floor is clean before you put down the sealer and wax.
Q: I put in ceramic tiles on my first floor like 800 sq feet of it .. anyways i have 2 kids and 2 dogs i was wondering about buying a floor scrubber like one that scrubs and picks up the water afterwards because mopping just doesnt cut it.. what brands do you use or what advice would you give for cleaning these floors other than mopping them every other day!! thanks!!
I would suggest preventing the dirty floor...less time spent washing. Perhaps you're already doing the following, but if not, these are things that helped me... When our dogs come in, and if it's been wet out, we have an old towel to dry off their feet. If there feet are muddy, we have a warm wet rag to clean off the mud, and then we dry their feet. We have the towel and/or rag waiting at the front door. The kids...eat only at the table. Spills made by anyone are wiped up immediately. No shoes in the house. Vacuum the floors every/every other day. I wash my floors every 4-7 days. I wash all my floors on my hands and knees with a rag, and liquid cleaner, added to hot water. This is the the best way to get your floors clean. Good luck to you!
Q: where can i find really cheap floor mirrors?any websites you can suggest?
Cheap floor mirrors are available everywhere, any Wal-Mart, Target, Linens n Things, Bed Bath & Beyond, etc. You don't need a website to find one and add shipping costs to the purchase. Ikea must sell these as well. They do cheap to a whole new level. Any cheap store I've been in for any reason seems to have these available. Get out there and look. This is an easy find.
Q: Is not the length of the board is not the same, the interval is not the same?
In order to plan the interval according to the length of the floor. 910mm floor, on the 30cm. 600mm is 30cm. If it is 750mm, use a little keel (37.5cm).
Q: I would get a bathroom rug set, but I want the whole floor covered. I also rent so I don't want to damage the floor.
You can redo the floor by putting tiles or laminate flooring, but if redoing it isn't an option you can just get one of then giant rugs, if it's more colourful than the floor no one will really be looking at the floor but good luck!.
Q: I removed my carpet and put in laminate floor. Do you have to put a sealer for laminate floors. What products can i use to clean laminate floors??
Vinegar water is the best. Cheap, unobtrusive and easy to use.
Q: What brand floor did you go with? Are you satisfied with your floor? Most importantly for me is, how does your floor withstand spills, frequent mopping, & pet accidents?I want to install a floating vinyl-plank floor which has a natural wood look and feel, yet can withstand the abuse only a young puppy can provide.
There only one type on the market, that I know off, that will with stand that kind of treatment. Thats Traffic Master Allure. The seams, when put together, are water proof. Most all click and loc floating floors will allow water between the seams. It will then seep down and be damp under your flooring. The only other thing is full sheet goods of vinyl. I ve installed this several times, along with in my GFs boys bedroom. We just went through a spring thaw and flood in the base ment were his bed room is. Didn t do a thing to the floor.
