- Q:What prior education and skills are needed to become a Crane operator ?
- A basic education is required, no need for major courses. Skills however is developed through training. One is communication skills using a radio. Because crane operators have a partner called rigger, who overlooks the movement of crane below while telling instruction to the crane operator. Another skill is synchronization. Crane operators should possessed good movement synchronization and operation of levers and buttons inside his cabin. Another is good eyesight. Lastly, safety skill. Operators should know the capacity or the equipment he is operating and the calibration of the machine he is using.
- Q:I was looking at the glidecam hd1000 for my canon vixia hv40, but now I think I'm more interested in a crane (jib).I was thinking of the advance digital 6 ft. crane. I would replace some of the plastic parts for metal.I'll be using it to film sketches and short films. - It okorder / I have purchased Studio Jib last year and since then it is performing pretty good. It is quite light in weight that it can be carried very easily without any problem.
- Q:What is the book about?Is it a good one?
- My teacher read it to my class a few years ago so its kinda hard to remember, but it was about a girl living in Japan who gets diagnosed with a disease (i think cancer, but i'm not sure) and she beleived from the old Japanese story, that if you make a 1001 paper cranes, you would be granted a wish. Of course her wish would have been to live without the disease. Though, sadly, before she could make 1001 paper cranes, she lost to the disease and died. It had some really sad parts in it too, like how her best friend in the hospital with her died too. Also, this was a true story Her school desided to finish making the cranes for her, (which was very sweet) :) Our school also did it too hope you read it!
- Q:I am familiar with them, I have seen them before at my previous houses. But this is the first spring season for me in the house I am living in and they are absolutely everywhere. They stay right out side the house and they are all over the yard. I want to know if anyone knows any possible ways to rid them from the vicinity of our home. Thanks for the answers.

- Q:I already have 864 cranes and I wanna know what kind of wishes can I make? And are there consequences?Can I wish something like my mom won the lottery and we become rich? (Just an example!)And can you wish for death? (Just a question!)
- You can make whatever wishes you want. Just remember that the wishes you make reflects what kind of person you are. So maybe you should make wishes you can be proud of. Also remember, if wishes were horses beggars would ride If you for example would wish that you would have $10, your wish is most likely to be fulfilled if you manage to sell each origami crane for 1 cent... Generally wishes come true if you really work for them, Not by sitting, doing nothing and wishing.
- Q:we have a project starting that will require a stack built 1km high in the air?How will they install this?
- Build form the top, when they build these huge cranes, they build the top section, lift that up and build the next section underneath it, set it down to release the lift off the top section and lower it to the second section. Lift those 2 sections from the bottom, build the third section underneath it, and so on. You need to lift securely, like on all 4 sides for stability, and that leaves the corners free to build the next section.
- Q:I want to make a sculpture out of 1,000 paper cranes. I have sometime to work on it, but not months. Has anyone ever known someone to do this, or done this themselves? How much time should I allow for such a project?
- I think it will be hard to tell, the easiest form to calculate is the time to make one crane times 1000. However, as long you fold you will get a little bit exhausted therefore you should add 1/5 of the total times to make of the 1000 cranes, good luck!

- Q:Is Fireplace Crane a modern term for the swing-out metal arms that hang over a fireplace for cooking? e.g. like in dutch ovens or pots/cauldrons that hang over a fire.It sounds like a more modern term and I need to know if there is an older term. Thanks.
- Apparently that IS what they were called. Who knew? I would have guessed something a little more poetic like Dragon's Tail because it's long and straight, swings on a pivot and frequently has notches along to top for latching the bails of cooking pots and the like. Crane sounds so... so... ordinary.
- Q:What are the impacts of construction cranes on the human society?
- construction cranes enabled the building of multiple story buildings which fostered urbanism. It changed the village oriented way of life in America, for good and bad. We became more boadly oriented in our business ventures which increased the stanting of the U.S. in world affairs, but it decreased the degree of brotherhood people felt for each other as they left their roots and dwelt amongst relative strangers.
