Q:How to measure the temperature of pump body?
It's the temperature of the pump motor! In addition to large pumps, water temperature is rarely monitored. Even so, the temperature of the pump body will not be measured.Since the water pump pumping, the leaves, vanes and shells are no temperature rise, the temperature is mainly concentrated in the bearing: small pumps rely on the work medium can play a role in reducing friction heat;Heating large pump mainly in the thrust bearing and guide bearing, if the bearing is lubricated by water cooling water, if there is oil lubricated oil cooling equipment specially, temperature monitoring of bearing large pumps can be installed in the pump thrust bearing temperature sensor to monitor the varnay.
Q:I'm going to buy a pump to take water from a lake and use it to water the grass at my cottage. I would like to run at least 2 hoses at the same time. I'm looking at one that's 3/4 horse. Is this too small? The yard is a little more than an acre.
A 3/4 horse pump usually has a one inch suction and 3/4 inch outlet and is more than enough to water one acre. Remember, you don't have to water every day or even cover the entire acre all in one day. The industrial/agricultural pump mentioned before (4 inch? 6 inch? Or more?) is intended for use on dozens of acres per day.
Q:Water pump maintenance what should be maintained?
1 by sound to determine whether the bearing is good. If the sound is abnormal, replace the bearing.2, check whether the impeller is worn, if worn, will affect the flow, lift, efficiency, need to be replaced.3, check whether the mechanical seal can continue to use, can not be used, need to be replaced4, check the oil tank is missing oil, such as lack of oil to the appropriate location.
Q:A mechanic replaced my timing and other belts on my 2001 Mitsubishi Galant 4 cylinder today but not water pump. He said the water pump looked good. All the other mechanics I talked to told me they had to replace the water pump. This mechanic said the belts were not connected to the water pump in this car and therefore the water pump was ok. The car has about 100500 miles on it. Is this bad or should I call him back and ask him why he didn't change the water pump. I don't want to pay more later.
no your water pump should be fine if the belt wasnt spinning the water pump then nothing was moving to break or whatever the way you can tell if your water pump is bad is it will leak green antifreez out of the front of the motor and you will see green puddle on the ground but if its not leaking then its good
Q:Does the water pump pump the coolant into the engine or pump it out?
The automobile water pump pumps the coolant into the engineThe effect of the water pump is used for cooling the engine; it is the coolant pump in the water tank into the engine of the channel, when the engine temperature is about 93-98 of the body's arrival, the thermostat engine open, cooling fluid from the thermostat back into the tank....
Q:I have a fairly new jetted tub. I stupidly used bubble bath 2 days before and have since read that it is not good, but just because of the amount of bubbles, not that it will actually harm the system. The electrical circuit is not tripped. I hear this clicking but the pump doesn't turn on. Any ideas? Do I need a new pump?
Your pump either has a jammed impeller or the coupling is broken. These pumps are lubricated by the water flowing through and when you are pumping bubbles, you're not pumping water. Hopefully the tub was installed so there is reasonably easy access to the pump cavity.
Q:I've noticed after driving my car for a while recently it squeals while accelerating. I'm wondering if its the water pump cause I've had a coolant leak for a while. I poured alluminum sealer in the reservoir and its stopped the leak almost completely though. If it was a broken pump, would this sealer have stopped the leak like it has? I drive a 2000 saturn sl2
it could be, the sealer causes more problems than they fix. you will need to clean your cooling system, heater core and radiator and all your hoses.
Q:The coolant in my '92 Le Baron is leaking, so I may have to change or replace my water pump.., any ideas?
You take it out and replace with new. In the process you might have to remove radiator, drive belt, several pulleys to get to the pump.
Q:I have a '97 Chevy S-10 2.2 with 208K miles. Today on the way to work the heat cut out suddenly.I have had an issue with my engine where the temp will go up and down while on the highway but maxes out at like 215. Today after the heat cut out it was getting up near the redline before going back down to 150.I made sure the coolant was good before coming home but on the way home it was doing the same thing. I changed the thermostat but it's still doing the same thing. When I rev the engine I can see the upper radiator hose collapsing so it seems like there's a clog somewhere but I don't know how to find it. I guess it could be the water pump but then what is causing the suction on the upper radiator hose?Anyone have any ideas?
The possibility that the thermostat is up side down comes to mind. Chevy water pumps have been known to loose an impeller, but the collapsing upper hose suggests a vacuum is being pulled, so I don't think it is the water pump.
Q:can a failing water pump sound like rattling or popcorn until the motor begins to over heat? the sound is nearthe waterpump. it goes away once the temp starts to overheat.the temp will get near redline then go down to normal and then start creeping up again. thanks for any replies.
I wouldn't do that one very often. It could be the impellers on your water pump (broken or seized)..in which case it will need replacing
