- Q:It's a big pain to loop them around those two hooks. I have a bad back and hate all that bending over to do so. Plus, when I turn the top hook to get the cord off and usable it gets all twisted. It's so nice with a canister vac to just touch the button with my toe and ZIPPP, it's all tidy.
- Sears does. Their Kenmore brands have retractable cords. I have one. It is a canister vacuum with carpet attachments. Works great does the job of two vacuums.

- Q:I have the Miele now, and see that Kenmore was top rated by Consumer Reports.
- Have used Kenmore for years, also based on C/R ratings. Mine is a cannister; works well on dog fur. As I recall, Miele's biggest problem was initial cost, so if it's working ok, stick with it, but if you NEED to replace it, go with Kenmore. (My sister-in-law, whose kids have asthma, also swears by Kenmore.)

I am looking for a great, affordable vacuum that does not collect hair in the bristles on the bottom of the vacuum but actually sucks it up into the machine. - It would have to be wire coat hangers because they are against legal abortion and want everyone to go back to the good old days of back street abortionist's or butchers. Some people might get confused between Jesus Joan Crawford both JC...remember that movie Mommie Dearest about her ...it featured wire coat hangers quite prominently.

- Q:I don't know much about vacuum cleaners. My vacuum cleaner isn't working now. I changed the filter, but it does not pick up the stuff on the carpet. I vacuum over it and it doesn't pick it. I don't know what is wrong with it. I think our last vacuum cleaner may have done that and we just got a new one. What is wrong? Is there a vacuum repair person that fixes vacuum cleaners? - You either have a broken belt or your vacuum is clogged. Turn the vacuum upside down and turn it on and if the brush spins, then your alright, but if it doesn't move, then your belt is broken. Easy to change. Walmart or home depot, etc sells them and with a phillips screwdriver, take off the plastic top of the vacuum and you will see where the belt goes. Now if you brush is spinning, then you have a clog. Check down the hose and see if you can see light. A clog is easy to unclog, a long screwdriver etc.

- Most vacuum cleaners have an upholstery attachment that you can put on the hose and use on the couch or other upholstered items. The Kong Zoom Groom or other rubber de-shedding tools like mitts work really well on fabric too. In the future, you may want to train the dog to stay oof the furniture, block his access to it or cover the furniture with a blanket/sheet/petcover to prevent hair from getting on the upholstery in the first place.
