Q:I thought i had cleared enough snow off my car (2007 ford explorer) windshield and just turned on the wipers to remove the rest. The one on the drivers side easily removed the snow but the right side jammed and then broke off. The wiper itself seems to be intact with a little clip that i assume locks it into place along with another clip that‘s removable. Do i just buy a whole new wiper? Take it to a mechanic? Or can it just be placed back on?
Head thee to a parts store. They'll identify the correct part and if you ask nicely, put it on for you.
Q:Not sure what this car part is that I need. Its part of the windshield wiper transmission shaft thing.?
Looks like you're just missing the clip that holds the wiper shaft to the drive arm. Your dealer should be able to order the part for you. Don
Q:What are the functions of windshield wiper?
*facepalm*. To wipe the windshield, particularly to wipe water off of it.
Q:When the wipers are turned off, the one on the passenger side sorta sticks off the side, or isn‘t flush with the glass. When I drive the wind blows it, and it shakes. When I turn the wipers on, it goes flat agaisnt the glass and wipes. Does this sound like something you have heard of before? What can I do to fix it because everywhere I go, noone can give me an answer! Thanks.
1. check the length of the blade sounds to long. 2. check the bushing where the window wiper transmission linkage meets the wiper arm sound like it is sloppy when not under power.
Q:My windshield wipers wont work! All of a sudden the motor is going but the wipers are not moving. This car is a saturn ion 2004. And only has 44,000 miles are on it. What is wrong? and how to fix this?
It's usually not the motor but the relay. That's located there where the fuses are, under the hood. The next thing after that would be your multi-switch that you use to turn the wipers on with, it may have gone bad, but I always go for the relay first, as that's the weakest link.
Q:VW Jetta (2009) Does anyone else think the windshield wipers are too slow, even on high?
it's made that way to make the driver more comfortable with the sounds that the wipers make!
Q:I have a 2004 Ford Explorer Sport Trac. I turned them on and they moved to the 12 o‘clock position, made a thunk sound and stopped. I turned the wipers off immediately turned them back on, hoping they would reset, no such luck. Any suggestions on how to fix, short of taking my truck to the ford dealer?
i dont have USAA but mine have went up for the last 2 years also. so has my homeowners insurance. when i called and as they said it was due to the fact that supplies to rebuild a home have went up and that they needed to raise my premium to cover the increase in building supplies. WHAT HORSE *HIT. my autos are the same way,,,both cars are over 9 years old,,,,paid OFF, and no tickets,,,we are getting older (supposed to go down when you get older). dont know why the auto insurance keeps going up either. but no you are not alone and yes many other people are having the same problem ,,,,USAA or not
Q:windshield wipers will not operate on my 1969 corvette.
If they rib you for not knowing how to drive a standard, ask one of them to teach you (the one with more patience). Street racing is dangerous and illegal. It doesn't really matter which is faster on the road. Tell your friends to keep their racing off the streets and on the track. The rest of us who have to drive would rather avoid any ambulance or hearse rides. Anyway, I would suggest learning to drive a stick if you can find a teacher, because it's like swimming, good to know, even if you don't get in the water a lot. Then, once you know how, drive what you like, because it's none of their concern, you're the one who has to live with the car.
Q:I am a very DIY sort of guy, and I am very cheap, too. I like the idea of keeping my windshield wiper blades and just changing the rubber refill. However, I can never find them in stores, and I don‘t know anyone who has ever done this. Are there any strong reasons against changing the refills? Most things I have read say that changing the refills is a pain. Why is this? I dont mind taking an extra 10 minutes to save $10. where can I buy the refills?I am not particularly worried about my wipers leaving perfectly clear glass behind. I just need to change my current wipers, which hardly do anything.
if the refill falls out like they sometimes do you can damage or scratch the windshield avearge replacement of a wisdshield 250 is it worth it refills also only last 1 year or less so next year you replace them again and spent more being cheap is not always saving you money like another answer said wal-mart. tou might spend a couple more bucks but they will last 2-3 times longer also, picture if you will you put on the refills and your in the rain and one slips out of the holder or falls out and you end up in an accident, and total your car? is that 10 dollars gonna come and save you? buy you a new car?pay for the insurance hikes? when it comes to safety on a car, is it worth the 10 bucks?
Q:The driver‘s side is fine. I‘m thinking its mechanical not electrical. Any advice, I would like to fix it myself but I don‘t know where to begin.
It appears like the wiper arm itself has stripped out. what you're able to do is take away the cap on the wiper arm on the backside of your windshield and get a wrench/socket and attempt to tighten the bolt down. on occasion that works, different smart you will desire a sparkling wiper arm. I doubt enormously that the wiper pivot is undesirable. in case you desire a sparkling wiper arm, you may attempt a areas shop or the broking of your motor vehicle. (i.e. ford, chevy ect. ) wish this helps.
