Q:my friend called me and asked me to help with there truck. they are not able to trun off their windshield wipers and they only go off when the truck is turned off. The only thing i know to do is take out the fuse that runs the windshield wipers however i do not have the truck in front of me an do not know the layout of the truck. are there any other ways to fix this problem and if now then where is the fuse box so i can walk her through what to do.: could be one of many problems, first could be the park mode in the motor is broken, second. unit not grounded properly

Q:Today I was driving in the rain when out of nowhere my driver-side windshield wiper went all the way to the left hanging off the side of my truck, and would not do any thing once reset in place. The passenger-side wiper seems to work just fine; but if I start my wipers up, the passenger-side wiper will get caught on the driver-side wiper and basically get stuck or bend the driver-side wiper. I had to drive slow to the store and pick up some Rain-X just so I could see enough to make it home.Is there an easy fix I am overlooking, or is this gonna cost some money to get repaired? Any help would be awesome, I am no mechanic.: Remove the driver side windshield wiper (pry it up with a screwdriver while using rags to protect your paint). Look at the stud sticking out and see if it has splines (ribs) on it. If it does, look at the inside of the wiper arm connector and see if is rounded out (no splines). Replace the entire wiper arm if it is worn out (easy fix). If the stud is worn, you will need a mechanic to replace it.

Q:I have a ‘99 Pontiac Grand Prix, if that helps any. My driver‘s side wiper blade tends to over-extend off the windshield slightly when it‘s on. Then blade then gets caught on the outside of the windshield and, stroke by stroke, gets pulled out of alignment so that eventually it can‘t get back on the windshield, hitting the side-view mirror instead. I‘ve tried pushing it back down into position and tightening the bolt of the wiper arm, but eventually it will start happening again. Is there another solution to my problem? Could this be a wiper arm motor issue or an issue with the bolt or something else? Even while the bolt is tight, I‘m still able to move the wiper blade freely. Should this be able to happen? Any help is greatly appreciated, I would love to be able to fix this myself without having to take it into a shop.: it sounds like it keeps slipping on the shaft ! it,s not the wiper motor or you would not have any wipers ! there are splines on the wiper shaft and if they get worn away then the wiper will slip ! you can change those wiper shafts if you have the tools and know what to do ! the junk yard should have what you need ! just ask for a wiper shaft !

Q:So to get it to stay wiping. I would turn it on and wait till it finish wiping once and then turn it off to wipe it again.Then On. Then Off. What is wrong with it? Thanks for the help.: There is a capacitor that actuates the delay wipe. Sounds as if it has failed. This might be making the problem with the 'ON' wiper mode.

Q:91 Dodge Ram 250. I have tried pulling, prying, etc. I need the hole wiper arm removed to see if it has sheard completely off. I can not get the wipers to move and know the motor is trying to work, but just not moving the blades at all. I know how to take off the actually wiper blade from the arm so please don‘t explain that procedure: To get the arms off the spindles, I went to the automotive supply store and purchased something called a wiper arm puller. It didn't cost me more than $5. This was after I pulled my wipers off using my own 2 hands, a lot of wd40 and swear words you've never heard from a girl.

Check with your mechanic to find his hourly labor rate. I would also recommend genuine Hyundai parts. Some cheap aftermarket wiper motors are re-manufactured cheaply and often have a short life.
