- Q: So yesterday when I headed off to work, my wiperblades on my 98 Hyundai Elantra worked just fine. It‘s been snowing lately and thus they are needed (obviously). But, when I left work, and tried to turn them on, I didn‘t even hear the motor start up to wipe them. Not frozen to the window, checked the arms, they seem fine. And this morning I tried them. Not even a hiccup of movement. Is the motor for it broken or something?
- The higher quality 700c tires will have a higher psi on average. I have tires that take well over 100psi.
- Q: So, I was in such a rush to fix my windshield wiper motor that I started taking things apart, including the bracket that holds the front rod to the motor. I forgot to check to see if it was in park position, ie., aligned with the arrow. When I put it back together with the new rod do I have to do anything special to make sure that everything is aligned? The bracket that holds the front rod (rod A) spins 360 degrees when attached, so I don‘t see what the big deal is, but some forums claim it is important.
- If the new motor isn't parked before putting the linkage on the motor it will park in any number of positions. To get it to park where you want it to make sure the motor is in the park position and then guess as close as possible where to tighten the linkage down so the blades are in the park position. If the wiper arms can be pulled away from the windshield and they stay there by themselves put them there before trying the wipers out just in case you guessed wrong so you don't bend or break anything. You are about to learn what the big deal is!
- Q: last night at around 4am wen i was going home on my lunch break i tried 2 wipe the dew off the windshield. but the wipers wouldnt move. it made the sounds but they didnt move. i touched the dew and it turned out it was ice/frozen. the dew that was even on the hood and the roof was frozen. after 1 hour wen i was going bak 2 work i thought it would b alright but they still didnt work. so wen i got off 4 hours later and the sun was off i was sure they had 2 work. but they still didnt work. wen i pick the wipers off the windshield they move perfectly fine but wen i put them down on the windshield they dont move. whats wrong with them/what do i need 2 do??
- Well you blew the wipe fuse, and here is why. When the wipers got frozen to the windshield and you turned them on thy moved just a little and when the wiper motor felt the resisence it blew the fuse. Check the wiper fuse.
- Q: A few days ago, I noticed the wiper blade on my driver‘s side was bent so I got a new one just for the driver side and it worked fine. I got a trico force blade. A couple days later I got the passenger match for it and after a couple wipes, the driver blade went under the passenger. Now, the driver blade goes off my windshield and doesn‘t completely return to its normal rest position. The passenger blade is working fine.I think all of this may have been caused by my blades getting stuck on ice and then pulling something loose over time. I‘m no mechanic but I have enough know how to fix this myself if possible. Does anyone know how to approach this issue? Much thanks to any assistance!
- Tighten the wiper arm bolt.
- Q: 1990 Ford Probe
- you do no longer the linkage has no adjustment and the gearbox is sealed and non serviceable. You the two have a tendency or broken linkage or a foul wiper motor (the kit container is area of the motor).
- Q: We had a really severe storm with blinding rain. I believe my windshield wiper motor is not good anymore. It has 3 speed levels. The third speed seems just as slow moving like the 2nd speed for the windshield wipers. How do I go about getting a new windshield wiper motor???
- Go to either Auto Zone, or any car repair place,AUTO ZONE is good because they will test your wipers, and tell you if you need a new motor, and if you do, they very well may have one in their store, and probably would put it on for you!For a small charge! Its better to get it checked by someone who knows what they are doing first, before you spend out that kind of money for another one, when maybe all you need is the wires just came loose from the storm.
- Q: My mom‘s windshield wipers are shot, anyone know of anywhere i can find a good and somewhat cheap pair.Thanx
- Wal*mart. Might be a few penny's cheaper than an auto parts store. I like Bosch wipers - very long lasting. Rain-X brand were junk. Cheapest brand seems to be Trico. Better than Rain-X brand, but don't impress me.
- Q: My 2000 chevy cavalier windshield wiper doesn‘t work,I replaced the fuse and it works when the engine is not running, but as soon as the engine starts, the windshield wont work anymore
- sounds stupid but touch a bare wire to the wiper motor housing and the other end to a ground and see if it works. Chevy's have a thin ground on there wiper motors and if broken will do things like this. If its the problem just put a ground wire to the fire wall and it will last longer than a new motor. May not be the problem but is common.
- Q: Until I can afford to them repair. It need a new windshield wiper motor
- No, if you tie them down you could cause more damage. Instead remove the fuse that controls the wipers - look in the manual to find out where they are. Usually they're under the hood near the windshield or under the dashboard.
- Q: I have a 2003 Ford Crown Victoria and when i turn on my windshield wipers they skip and scrape across the windshield. I have replaced the wiper blades 4 times and have used different blades each time. I have used Anco, Trico , and since i work for a Ford dealer i have used OE Ford blades. I have had no luck getting good wiper blade usage. Is it possible that the wiper arm s are pressed to tight against the windshield?
- there is a spring that should regulate the tension for the windshield wiper sound like thats the problem or you have something on your window and if you work at a dealership just ask a mechanic
