Q: I have a 98 honda civic, and my windshield wipers will not turn on. I have changed the fuse but it hasn‘t worked, does anybody know what could be the problem?
Probably the little motor that turns the wipers.
Q: I am a very DIY sort of guy, and I am very cheap, too. I like the idea of keeping my windshield wiper blades and just changing the rubber refill. However, I can never find them in stores, and I don‘t know anyone who has ever done this. Are there any strong reasons against changing the refills? Most things I have read say that changing the refills is a pain. Why is this? I dont mind taking an extra 10 minutes to save $10. where can I buy the refills?I am not particularly worried about my wipers leaving perfectly clear glass behind. I just need to change my current wipers, which hardly do anything.
My usual practice is to buy the refills once, then buy new blades the next time, and then the cycle repeats. This has worked for me pretty well for the last 30 years or so.
Q: They dont work! The switch doesnt work. So i was wondering how much it would cost to fix them? I wana get an idea so i dont get ripped off. Its a 98‘ chevy S10
1. Check the fuse box first. 2. It might also be the wiper delay circuitry. There was a recall on this part. May be fixed free by dealer. You can call a dealer with you VIN number and see if your truck has been repaired yet or not or if it is even subject to the recall 3. The wiper motor is not that expensive 69.95 but the labo rmight be depending where you go. Good luck
Q: Why windshield wipers want go all the way down when turned off 1998 Chevy 3/4 ton cheyanne?
Depending on the size of needed water line, you may install a saddle valve as you would for an ice maker for your refrigerator. When clamped over the existing copper tubing you simply screw the valve clockwise to tap and then counter clockwise to turn the new line on.
Q: My 202 Chevy Malibu's windshield wiper only works on the highest setting, do I need to replace the motor? how to do it?
there is nothing wrong with the motor it's your wiper switch in the steering column that is bad.
Q: My windshield wipers on my 04 subaru impreza just smear water whenever it rains. I have cleaned it very well, even used clay bar. I have tried all different types of wipers with no luck. Now this is where it gets interesting, I replaced the windshield in november. The old one had this problem and now the new one does. I even changes the wipers when I got the new windshield. Could it be that I need new wiper arms because the springs may be worn out and not applying the wiper hard enough to the windshield?
Hope this is not your situation, but I once made the mistake of applying Rain-x to my windshield and later washing the car with Mr. Clean no-dry car wash. The next time it rained I turned on the wipers and it looked like I was spreading white paint across the windshield. Both products are polymers (one trying to get water to bead up and the other trying to get it to sheet off) so trying to clean the windshield was hopeless. I got the smearing down to a level where we could drive by using Barkeeper's friend and an electric polisher for about half an hour. The problem lingered until the windshield had to be replaced because of a crack. Rain-x and Mr. Clean car wash are now banned from my garage.
Q: My daughter is 21 mos. old and closes her eyes tightly and cries whenever the wipers go on. Has anyone had a similar experience? She seems like she is in pain and I don‘t know what to do??
That sounds so darn funny. Why don't you try to allow her to touch the gadget that makes the wipers work and maybe put them on the very slowest speed possible. Perhaps if she sees she can control them she will not fear themjust a thought :)
Q: (2000 Chevy Monte Carlo) Okay, user mdk68gto suggested that the problem may be in my fuse box. When my friend relaced my ignition switch, he did not disconnect the battery before working, he just started the work.So if it is a fuse, how do I go about fixing or just by another fuse??
I wouldn't think to check fuses, the same fuse should power the wipers all the time. Plus, after your ignition switch is let go after starting it is returned to the ignition on position. Id start by operating your wiper blade switch many times with the engine running. If you get movement, even just once, I would address your wiper switch. However, I will admit to not knowing much about your model of car.
Q: I need to know if the wiper fluid dispensing automatically engaged the windshield wiper in cars as early as the 1960‘s? I read a story about a teenage stunt involving the wiper fluid dispenser and every time the fluid was squirted out, the wiper would sweep across the windshield. I know that happens in today‘s vehicles, but did it back in the 60‘s?
If I remember correctly, it does seem that you were able to turn on the washers without turning on the wipers. I remember a story about some kids putting whiskey in their washer fluid tank and running a tube through the dash that would dispense whiskey at the touch of a button.
