- Q: I recently was in Brianhead in freezing conditions, being around snow much my life I know to lift my wipers up from the glass but this time after i cleared the ice and snow, drop the wipers back down. - Turn the Ignition switch or start the engine,turn on the wiper switch to low-not delay If the wiper motor is accessible tap lightly on the motor I that does not work you will have to disconnect the wire harness and see if you have power and ground Also check the fuses

- There isn't a way to increase the pressure on an old worn wiper arm. As far as the removal goes, it likely isn't the original arm, so the method of removal depends on the design. Easiest solution? Find an Auto parts dealer who replaces wiper arms and blades at no charge when you buy them. In my town Advance Auto parts does it free. They are a national chain, and probably do it at most locations.

- Q: Riding to work this morning with my wife in her 98 Chevy Pickup. When she tried to turn on her wipers I heard a buzz behind the dash but the wipers didn‘t move. She turned the control on and off a few times and it made the same sound every time. On about the 4th or 5th try the wipers came on a worked fine the rest of the drive. Any ideas? I have a fair amount of mechanical ability but I rarely deal with electical issues and I‘ve never worked on wipers. By the way, she had used the wipers earlier in the trip and they worked fine so I know this didn‘t happen because they were stuck.
- This does sound like a weak or dying wiper motor. Unless you find some kind of obstruction that might have impeded the motion of the wiper arms. I'd give her the once over and if you don't see anything where it shouldn't be then you might coinsider a replacement before the Winter season gets here. Good Luck!
