Q:Hi, I drive a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix.My windshield wipers work fine with no problems until I turn them off. When I turn them off, they go down like they used to to turn off and then pop back up and stay in a vertical position. I have read around and many places suggest it is a motor problem but I don‘t see how that would make sense when they operate just fine.Any suggestions or answers would be must appreciated. Thanks.
There is a switch in the motor called a park switch. That's the problem. Replacement is the answer.
Q:I have a 2006 Toyota Tacoma. Even after putting on a brand new pair of windshield wipers, they still streak, don‘t get a clear smudge-free wipe. Is there an adjustment I can make to the wiper arms to improve the wiping action?
clean your windshield.try rain x windshield cleaner.
Q:I think it‘s located under the windshield wipers but I‘m not 100% sure. Also, if anyone could tell me how to get to them it would help a lot. Thanks.
Most are located on the firewall at the rear of the engine.
Q:When the wipers are off the lie straight up. How can I resolve this problem
ok it would help knowing the make and Model of the car. the wiper motor is built with a timer in it and stop positions . Most likely the wiper rod has slipped where it connects at the motor . Some times it is as easy as disconnecting the rod and reconnection it when the motor is in the off position. then re position the wipers to the right location and reconnect . you may have to replace the wiper arm as it may be damaged. please inspect all parts for damage. to do it . disconnect the wiper arm from where it connect to the motor. the turn the wipers on then back to the off position then line the wiper arms down a the bottom of the windshield next to the stops . then reconnect the wiper arm back to the motor.
Q:I have a 2003 Impala. Last night, I turned the wipers on and the passenger‘s side wiper crossed over and hit the drivers side wiper. Then the drivers side wiper went all the way over to the driver‘s side mirror. When I put them back into place, they work okay for a while and then the same thing happens. What‘s wrong?
Sounds like some part of the wiper(s) motor assembly is loose, broken, stripped or possibly not on correctly/wrong parts.
Q:I know this is a lame request but i‘m sick of buying windshield wipers that are only average at best when you use them.Nothing fancy. Just a good quality!I have a 2003 Toyota Sequoia.
also check if the bushing in the wiper arm stiped good luck
Q:I have a 03 silverado and the windshield wipers are stuck on. The only way to stop them is to remove the fuss.
check with your dealer ,to see if there is a racall ,for that problem , they had alot of problems with the wiper motors , i have a 96 chevy p/u ,that had the same problem , it cost me about$30 at orielly auto parts for a new circuit board for the wiper motor ,because my milage was to high to get the recall from the dealer.
Q:When it‘s raining on my car‘s windshield I can see reasonably well through the drops. If I turn on the windshield wipers though, it just smears the water around and makes it harder to see. So I usually drive in the rain without turning on my windshield wipers. Am I breaking the law?
I know in California, it is the law that you have working windshield wipers. I believe the law to require windshield wipers though is state dependent, so I wouldn't know if you were breaking the law unless I knew the laws of your specific state. California's specific vehicle code found here: www.dmv.ca /pubs/vctop/d12/vc2. (Again this is a state dependent law)
