- Q: Please help, My windshield wipers wont turn off when i am driving- bmw 5 series 1990?
- Plate tectonics. The polarity of the earth slowly changes in intervals. When this changes the new rock being formed at mid ocean ridges shows these magenetic changes and the floor spreads, so the parallel lines stretch across the floor parallel to the ridge.
- Q: Before you say it yourself, yes im an idiot for how this happened. The drivers side windshield wiper arm is not giving any pressure towards the windshield anymore this was because we were kidding around and someone ended up pulling the whole thing down. it is a 1987 chevrolet celebrity. motor and everything else works fine im just getting no pressure on the window so its not making full contact.what can I do myself? please dont say see a mechanic because that is a last resort for me.im looking for help here :)thanks!
- Yes you might be able to buy replacement wiper arms from auto parts stores but these are sometimes repro and not the same as the originals so you would have to change both of them otherwise it will look weird, or you could try a few salvage yards just grab the arm you need it shouldn't cost much and there should be plenty of those models around, also on older cars there is usually a spring on the arm that keeps it on the windscreen maybe you lost or broke this spring? hope this helps.
- Q: Can u tell me what i need to do to get it fix and how much does it cost.
- It is most likely the wiper motor. The motor should run about $75. It is fairly easy to replace yourself but if you get someone to do it expect to pay about $150.
- Q: One wiper (the driver's side, of course) has stopped working all together. Everywhere I search, it tells me to check the fuses. Is it possible that the wipers have two different fuses??? I'm guessing it is not the motor since one wiper still works. I have also tried tightening the bolt that holds the arm on, but this didn't help. Any suggestions? I don't even know where to find the fuses. Any info will be greatly appreciated as it is Sunday and I doubt I will find anyone to fix it today. Also it is starting to snow so wipers are a must. Thanks!
- The wiper motor is working. If the linkage isn't working, you basically hear the sound of the wiper motor. If the wiper motor isn't working, examine the fuse first, then the wiper motor. Wiper motor ought to final the existence of the motor vehicle. i alter my wipers earlier, so as that it may accomodate a better length on the motive force area. I did some experiments and it artwork. I had comparable to quickly as I did my experiments with my wiper. the explanation is i'm attempting to set the wiper palms that I forgot to screw the nuts on. Your passenger area nut is loose. you need to screw it tight. some autos you need to open the conceal to uncovered the nut. in case you notice a demonstration on the hollow below the wiper arm once you bumped off it, this is malicious application out, then you certainly ought to replaced the wiper arm.
- Q: So I installed some new windshield wipers (Rain X Latitude to be exact) today. Unbeknown to me, when I tested them a pine needle got caught and was streaked several times back and forth causing the glass to essentially be cut in a giant radius. So now I have a giant steak of cut glass from the pine needle (It‘s not cut too deep, fairly shallow) along the passenger side of the car which can‘t help but block my vision. So my question is.Is there any product that can help me buff out or refill the shallow cut to the window? Thank you in advanced for you help!
- Manual transmission vehicles seem to be very difficult to master at first, but once you get the hang of it, they are great to drive. and a lot less boring then automatic transmission vehicles. Prior to turning the ignition key, make sure your foot is firmly pressing the clutch pedal all the way to the floor. you MUST keep this pedal to the floor unless the car is in NUTURAL.it will stall out otherwise. When you feel it is time to move forward OR backwardlets say you are in Nurtural.you put your foot on the clutch and shift the car into first gear.with a standard 4 or 5 gear shifter on the floor, the shift pattern is an H with first gear at the top left of the H pattern. but clutch in with LEFT foot, push shift knob toward the LEFT and UP, let go of shift knob, SLOWLY bring foot off of clutch while at the same time, slowly putting your foot on the gas pedal and slowly pushing down. your left foot should come off the clutch pedal in at the same speed your right foot is pushing down on the gas pedal now you should (hopefully) be moving forward. LISTEN carefully to your car, the engine will basically let you know by it's sound when you need to shift again. it takes practice to be able to HEAR when the car needs to be shifted and the only way to get that practice is to drive and hopefully not strip the gears. just be careful with practice you can do it Oh and shifting into reverse is different if you have a 4 speed transmission or a 5 speed transmission on a 5 speed transmission (5 gears to shift into), you shift to Nutural (center of the H then HARD to the right beyond the boundry of the H and then straight down. Once again, practicing with the feet coordination is essential. good luck it takes lots of patience (mostly on the part of your driving instructor).
- Q: okay i just a nice honda civic which was previously used for drag, so they got rid of the whole windshield wiper system. where can i go to to buy/install it. i don‘t much about that part of cars. maybe the wires and motor are still intact but i‘m not sure.
- I'd recommend taking it to a garage and getting a quote for price and maybe difficulty. Sometimes is it's easy to do they'll tell you how to do it yourself. Windshield wipers are something you don't want to mess up though because your life could depend on it. You can get parts from advance auto or pepboys.
- Q: mine are bad aka falling apart. oops :). Thanks a bunch!
- if you go to an auto store like Kragens for example they should have a big book right in front of the winshield wipers that you can go through and it will tell you what size you need. For a Ford F-150 you will probabley need 21 inch wipers. These are a little tricky to replace. I prefere to go get my oil changed and ask them to replace the wipers too. I know .I'm lazy.
- Q: Not sure what this car part is that I need. Its part of the windshield wiper transmission shaft thing.?
- Looks like you're just missing the clip that holds the wiper shaft to the drive arm. Your dealer should be able to order the part for you. Don
- Q: The wiper on the drivers side runs normally for a minute or two but then it starts to swing over to the side of the glass. Last night it caught on something and I lost the blade (of course in the pouring rain and on interstate), replaced the blade at the first place I got to. Anyway how can I fix it to keep it on the glass and prevent this from happening again? We are using the sizes it calls for and it has done this since we got the car in October.
- Linkage on rotating arms are worn or check the splines to where the wipers arm is attached to. Splines can be eaten out. The only other thing is to buy smaller wiper blades or fix it!
