- Q: I really wanted to buy a full hydraulic car jack for my garage. Unfortunately, looking at the home I just purchased, I no longer think it is really practical. I don‘t need to lift my car 8 ft, but I would like to lift it 2-4 ft for maintenance. Are there any good options for this, other than simple jack stands and a 2 ton car jack? I want to know if anyone knows of perhaps a platform that you can drive on and hand jack, or maybe some sort of rubber chalks that you can drive up onto.Simply putting it, I am looking for a car jacking solution between your every day floor jack/ jack stand set up and a full blown hydraulic lift that you would find in a mechanics shop. - Take car to shop. Turn off suspension in the trunk, lift car and check the suspension travel, check for holes in the bags, check fittings and air lines. Next check the air pump under the hood, see if the air pump is working. These pumps can be rebuilt. Suspension can be replaced, but can be repaired.

- for something that old and not at all a collector or rare bike, i wouldn't spend money on it except on worn out OEM parts, oil filters, oil, chain, sprockets, etcnot aftermarket stuff that's not needed. spend the money on ridng gear or save it for your next bike, because i've never known anybody who keeps a permanent katana in their inventory.

- Hydraulic lifts cost anywhere between $900 ( I wouldn't trust those) and $4000. They are not alot of maintenance, but you do have to inspect them every once in awhile to make sure there is not a ton of buildup between the parts, causing it to stick. Mine was not too difficult to put together, just have some big friends! Good luck! Oh, and since you're such a nice, charitable person, you can go ahead and make me a 67 GTO, dark green, hardtop, yeah sounds good.
- Q: I need to take off the spare tyre and put the original tyre back on to the front drivers side spot. When jacking it up at the front jacking point the car lifts up but the wheel remains on the ground leaving a close to one foot gap. I first thought I wasn‘t raising it enough so I placed wood blocks but it made no difference and I am afraid I may damage my car. - Q: i drive an ‘01 volvo s60.I bought the battery and tried to replace it but then I got stuck.As far as I know, it‘s not hard at all to replace a battery. unscrew the clamp on top that holds the battery down. Unplug negative side first then the positive side. Then unplug the ventilation hose that goes into my battery. Then the battery should come out. Well, the battery isn‘t budging. When i lift as hard as i can, the car lifts with it. Does anyone know what I am suppose to do? I don‘t want to take it to volvo and pay $150 just to change a battery.
- Just remove the bracket of the battery and loosen the battery terminals and you can get your old battery already and replace it with a new one. Put the terminals back together and the bracket and your fine. Hope this help!
