Can I just spray bleach on or will that ruin the tile?: Bleach shouldn't ruin the tile but then again I don't know what kind of tile you have. There are grout cleaners at Home Depot or Lowes that should do the trick for you. Grout floats,wax rings ,saws to cut doors down since they may not clear after. If you ve never tiled before, maybe you should hire it done, this isn t a beginner type job, but if you want to try, I ll help guide you. Basic skills in construction and plumbing wil come in handy. Q:I want to remove really ugly ceramic tiles from my bathroom walls. I want to do this without destroying the plaster wall underneath. What‘s the best way to take them off? Is this going to be a big job? Thanks in advance!!: Do it very carefully. Use a flat edged mason's chisel and hammer. Lay the chisel against the wall or as close to the wall as possible. Tap on the head with a hammer until the tile comes loose. No matter how hard you try, you are going to knock some plaster loose. It is a lot of work.

Q:I am about to redo my bathroom, and I Absolutely hate corners. They get dirty and are hard to clean plus I think they are ugly. So as far as tile is concerned is there something like a bent tile for an inside corner such as from floor to wall which will eliminate corners. Imagine if you will a quarter pipe use by skaters. If nothing exists where could I go to get custom tiles made.: American Olean, Summitville and I m sure there other makers make a cove tile meant to be used of flooring corners between the wall tile and floor tile. You can see them in commercial applications allot. I don t see why you cant adopt the same concept to walls. There is also a base tile used for showers called an A 3401 that you could use in the same way. There is a whole color range in in 4x4 and 6x6 tiles. These are nice but basic tiles . Q:I‘m planning to tile up my space. It‘s a 27 square meters. I‘ve calculated the number of tiles. It will be around 140 to 150 pieces with extra tiles. How much or how many bags of tile adhesive will I consume for the 27 square meters space using 150 pieces of tiles? or What is the area a bag of tile adhesive could cover? Can you show me a computation.: You don t say what size tile it is and what your going over as far as a substrate. It makes a difference. Since I familiar with the coverage in s/f and your post suggests you came from the states I ll use a s/f format and some generalizations. Assuming you have a larger tile you should be using a larger notched trowel.1/4x3/8 but you may want to use a larger 1/2x1/2. I ll go off of a 1/4x3/8 trowel. A standard 50# bag of thin set will cover an area of 60/70 s/f using a 1/4x3/8 trowel. Splitting the difference and using 65 s/f per bag, divide 65 into the 290 s/f you have. Or 4.46 bags. So you ll need 5 , 50# bags of thin set using a 1/4x3/8 trowel. If your using a different size trowel , all bags have a coversion chart on the back to figure your coverage. Q:I had new stone tile laid in my bathroom. 18 x 18 pieces, diagonally laid. One piece by the edge must have been stepped on by one of the tile layers as they were leaving and it got pushed down, so it‘s not level with the rest of the tiles by a small fraction. Its not noticeable if you walk on it with shoes, but if you walk on it barefoot or if you get down and feel it with your hands, there is clearly a noticeable difference. The flooring company refuses to come back and fix it claiming I did it. The piece is on the edge butting up against carpet from the bedroom. Is there any way I can make this tile level myself to avoid the hassle of trying to sue or file complaints against the flooring company? Maybe cut out that one piece without damaging and just put a new layer of the cement underneath it? I don‘t know. I‘ve never done tiling before.: you can pick up a small tile saw at any tile /flooring outlet.it has a serrated edge for cutting into the grout that is around the tile.once you have removed the grout you should be abel to insert a wide blade putty knife under the tile and tap it in easy to loosen the tile once it is free clean the area of any adhesive and reset the tile.it is a shame that the co who did the install refused to come back and do the repair.if i were you i would file a complaint with the better business bureau in your area.good luck

Only serious replies please.Thanks: I ve worked with tiles for over 20 years and I find no difference in tiles from different areas such a Italian , Indian .USA, Brazil, China etc. They all have excellent and garbage tiles. The vitrified tiles is a type of tile as is ceramic and porcelains. Usually a bit harder bodied and the the sizing is better on vitrified tiles. Get what coloring and style fits your needs. Q:To any DIY‘ers out there!My kitchen has a white tile backsplash and these decorative fruit motifs here and there. (you remember that trend?)There are only eight of them strategically placed, but I‘d really prefer that there were none, and just the plain white like the rest of the tiles. I can‘t really aford to retile the whole backsplash right now, so my question is .. Is there an effective way to cover them or paint them?: Oh my gosh.. I think you have the same kitchen as I do!! Ha ha ha! They are so ugly, arent they? I had looked into painting them and I looked into trying to remove the ones I hated and replacing those. Best thing is I guess you can go ahead and paint the ones you want to paint, or paint all of them... use tape, use primer then put your color on. But I ended up ripping them ALL down.
