- Previous answer was partially correct. There are building codes depending on your local government. Some outside wires have to be in conduit, some have to enter and exit the ground in conduit, others do not require it. However, the wire size is associated with the circuit breaker that you are going to attach it to and the length or distance away from the circuit board it is going to be. Don't try to save money and buy indoor wire however, stick to the heavier outdoor coated wire. It is best to buy a higher Gage and not use it all then to buy a Gage that is too small.

- you need to buy the harness for that particular truck, there's a plug already there for it, if you start hacking into wires you'll have more problems than you can believe. and I'm not going to explain it here, just trust me, there like $20 bucks and will save you a world of headaches.

- #2 is correct. GFI's (RCD's) don't need the grounding conductor. Only the hot and grounded (neutral) conductor are needed for proper operation.

- Well for starters the wires that are at the radio are not the speaker wire, they are power, ground and data wires. The speaker wires are back at the factory tuner box in the drivers rear of the trunk behind the carpet. The tuner box is a silver box that is mounted to the rear drivers fender well and has the input and output for your speaker wires as well as your antenna. metra electronics makes a harness that plugs into the factory plug and that you have to run from the rear of the car up to the dash to put in an aftermarket radio. this harness also includes the antenna wire with the adapter for the factory antenna end. You also need to get a dash kit that will replace that factory dash piece so it will accommodate the new radio. It is a metra part number 99-5715. Hope this helps

- You can test it with a voltmeter to something that is grounded like a metal water pipe. One wire will have 115 to 120 volts to ground (the hot wire) and the other will be 0 volts (the neutral). You may need one long piece of wire to reach from the water line to where you are testing the wires. Another way is to use a non-contact voltage tester. It will glow when it is next to the hot wire but not when it is next to the neutral. You can get them at a building supply or hardware store for about $10. I prefer the first method because it is more sure but the second one is easier. There is no positive or negative on AC wiring.
