Q: Hi, I was wondering if the house appraisal for a house with all hardwood floor was higher than it is if the house has all tile. Thanks!
REAL harwood floors (meaning the flooring is 100% hardwood and not a laminate of any kind) usually appraise SLIGHTLY higher. This means the floors are in great shape with no re-finishing needed.etc needed. It also means they are flat (not warped) or dinged and stain free. As with tile wood floors come in all price ranges. Laminates (like babmboo or pergo) won't be valued as highly as 100% hardwood planks. Tile floors are 'iffy'. Just like harwood there are all different grades of tile. Cheap tiles -ceramic,terra cotta- do not appraise as highly as porcelain, stone or marble flooring. But even with the best of the best of either the appraisal value would change only a few 100 dollars between the best quality and the worst quailty of either.Hope this was helpful
Q: How many 4x4 tiles for the deck area of a bath tub?Total area of deck tub = 108 x 61 = 6588Total area of tub = 60 x 41.5 = 24906588 - 2490 = 4098 total deck areaCan someone please tell me how many tiles I need? I don‘t know where to go from here.
4 x 4 = 16 divide by 4098 Then figure out if you have to buy a whole box or a 1/2 is ok for the remainder. Also you have to allow for grout. Figuring 1/8 so add 1/16 per tile. So your figure is really 4.0625 x 4.0625 or 16.5 divided by 4098 249 *******Hmmm Clayton.....9 per sq foot silly and you didn't deduct for the tub. Altho getting some for breakage is smart.
Q: my tiles are filthy....theres white dust every where and I guess what ever they used to patch the wall or something on the floor....I swept and mopped but it still looks horrible.
tile lab makes a heavy duty cleaner and stripper for tiles you can try that.
Q: How to identify the quality of ceramic tile and standard
(10) Size deviation: Tile specifications can be measured with a caliper, good product specifications are small, paving products after the uniform, straight brick, decorative effect is good; poor product specifications deviation, product size is different; (11) color selection: the color of the external walls should be coordinated with the surrounding environment, high-rise buildings generally should not use white or too light-colored decorative wall, in order to avoid the building lack of texture: in the interior decoration. Floor tiles and inner wall tiles to coordinate with each other; (12) the choice of tile types: to use the specific environment to choose tiles, such as the living room should choose a larger size of polished tiles or antique tiles, and the kitchen and the best choice for non-slip, easy to clean the whole body bricks.
Q: Will the home decoration tiles brand which are better? Can you tell me?
In the next brand: Bohua, Baidu, Bei Jia Li, signs, crown stars, love and Tao, Bode, long valleys, Fernando, crown, Huapeng, Hengfu, crown new century, Pfizer, Begonia, Chi-han, red, gold, gold, gold, nine, gold, fort, Jinxing, Jin Chaoyang, cardia, Luban, Long high, Lihua, Revlon, Lee home, Longju, music Can be, Louis modern, Marco Berry, the United States pottery, Montagut, Nock Weir, Europa, Pierre Cardin, Fuling, St. Paul Road, sublimation, Hilti, St. Tao Square, Shiwan, double happiness, Taocheng, special high special, Williamton, modern, Sheraton, new Liwan, new porcelain, Yu Jing, excellent Lulai, distant, Ascot, Owen Lai, Rong Gao, St. De Bao, Shuangling, Canor, Rome Gough.
Q: Can you lay down those adhesive floor tiles on top of existing tiles? If so, what kind of prep do you need to do to make sure they stick properly. I‘m not sure what type of tiles are in place now, but they are similiar to the types used in schools and other institutions. Very cheap, flexible, and bland. I want to lay something down in place of them, but don‘t want to rip them up. Is that possible? Thanks!
That partially depends on how heavy the tiles are and the reinforcement of your wall. I remember when asking about putting tiling in my kitchen that for large areas of wall tile you need a special drywall or wall reinforcement. You may also need a special adhesive to add in addition to the self adhesive since the floor tiles will be put up in a manner that they are not truly designed for.
Q: I have never laid tiles before and I would like to work from the ceiling down. In the shower I am going to use thin set. the rest of the bathroom is green board. which I intended to use a tile adhesive.the reason I wanted to go from ceiling down is I think the layout will look better
measure the wall height and measure the tile. Split the difference so that you don't have a sliver of tile at the end of you installation. Take a level and draw a line in the center of the wall as a divider for tile layout. Make sure again you have at least a good amount of a tile at the bottom and the top. You can start from that line using tile adhesive. Don'r glob it on use an 1/8th inch tooth trowel. You dont need thin set except for a floor. BTW the best rock to use in this area is purple board. It resists mold. Good Luck
Q: I‘m getting some of my house tiled and would like to know if I am getting ripped off or not. It is going to be approximalte 600 sq ft with 2 upstairs bathrooms. The installer gave me a quote of $2400 to lay the tile (straight or diagonal, whichever I want). I will have to buy the tile and other materials on my own. The tile is going to be 18x18. The price includes ripping out the carpet and ripping out the tile that is already in the kitchen that will be replaced as well as the tile in the upstairs baths. Also included will be haul away of all the trash. Is this a good price or not?
I am a contractor and for the work you describe i would usually charge 10 dollars a square foot. But I would include all the material including the tile but not exceeding a certain price per foot. And diagonal is extra so I think you got a damn good deal. Be careful check the guy research now no tears later.
Q: How does the concrete on the tiles clean?
Daily cleaning: clean soapy water Mud: linseed oil Precipitate, rust, mortar: nitric acid, sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid solution
