Q: Would they be easy to remove and not damage the floor (ugly linoleum) when I have to move out at the end of the year?
Damage? No. But how are you going to get them and the adhesive off when you go?
Q: I am remodeling a small bathroom only 39sq ft. I had someone come out and give me an estimate, he brought a sample of a job he did and tried to sell me on that design, which will NOT complement my existing fixtures, since my existing fixtures are fairly new, I decided to reuse those to save me money. Anyways, this sample he brought me used 16in tiles, since my bathroom is so small, I think huge tile will make it seem even smaller and claustrophobic, I was thinking 1in-4in tiles, but this guy insists that large tile will make the small bathroom seem larger, is there any truth to this? Also, what is a good price to pay, I want the tub replaced, the tile around the tub, replace the small window, flip the sink and toilet so that the sink sits where the toilet is at and the toilet where the sink is, maybe re-tile the floor. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!
It depends on the type of tile - sometimes flash bathrooms which are marble clad are in big sheets and this tends to make it look spacious especially if the floor matches the wall. Small tiles can make the wall look rather busy and not allow the eye to travel and are not very thrilling looking - you sound like you could do with a bit of Wow factor. If it's small enough I would use something like opaque/coloured glass sheet with no joins at all - maybe in combination with mirror sheet, or sheet laminate as a cheaper alternative. Mosaics can be attractive however and if light enough can be just as space enhancing. At the end of the day it is a small bathroom and there will be limit to how big you can make it appear. The advantage of a small layout is nothing should cost very much as there isn't much of it - and nothing is far awy from any supplies or wastes, not to be able to have the layout you want. Tthe best way to save money is to open a bank account, not remodel a bathroom. A really nice bathroom will add value to your house, a crappy one done on the cheap will have the opposite effect.
Q: Is there a simple way to lay ceramic tile. It is for a small bathroom. Never laid it before but There is a first time for everything. Should I use small tile or large.About 50 sq feet
make a cross to center of room and work from center to outer side. lay every thing out dry before you start adhering anything since this is your first time. try to adjust for cut tiles in your hidden corners. small tiles are easier to work with on the edges but large lay down faster. Best get a Friend that has done it before to lead you through the first time, then maybe you can pay it forward and show someone else next time. This way I had very little cutting, which I beleive is the hardest part. Do you know about scoring tiles to cut to fit or nipping to fit odd area's. I am a due it your selfer and I like to use the mosaic because I just waste to many tiles when I use the large grid. My kitchen has four differant types of tile in it because of this, and every one has told me it looks great. For the floor I Used a Large nuetral beige tile for most of the area then along the boarders of the room I used a ligh mosiac with more of a pink hue but still nuetral tone. For the counter tops I used the same size 1 inch mosaic as the boarder mixed in with a larger amount of white, and the back splash was even smaller already mixed mosiac tile combo with all the previous colors. the back splash was the color inspiration for the rest. Use a sanded grout for your first grout run, rub that down then fill in again with the same color non sanded grout it goes faster and looks better. then seal.
Q: how I can install ceramic tile on a wall and what tools do I need to do so? Any other tip that I should know about it to do a good job would be appreciated.
Create a cement base of top one to 2 inches prime for the cupboard first. The intensity (or width) of the bottom will have to be approximately 2 inches shorter than the cupboard. Then lay the ceramic tiles. Then constructed the cupboard with the counter best with reference to the dishwasher's top. Be certain to hold further tiles for long run use, like when you or long run proprietor could wish to eliminate the cupboard and base.
Q: i‘m planning to change the tiles in my tub area. whats the right way of doing this? should i change the drywall to cement backerboard? and how do i fix the joint between the new cement backerboard and the existing wall and ceiling which is textured? pls help!
in case you're applying great 1ft sq. tiles, and your chum did a foul interest on the the mosaic tiles i does not propose doing it. the load of the tiles could loosen the the smaller tiles inflicting the bigger tiles to fall. this may be risky in a tub or bath section. The tiles could shatter leaving sharp little shards of tile everywhere, alongside with interior the flesh of everyone interior sight. i replaced into going to place sixteen x sixteen tiles in my bathe section, and a contractor suggested I greater constructive be useful the wall above the bathe is shelter because of the fact if one got here loose and hit me interior the top it does not be sturdy. I went with little a million x a million tiles on the ceiling with greater tiles on the wall. despite you submit is in basic terms going to be as shelter as what's in the back of it. in basic terms my opinion, yet for safeties sake, i could get rid of the previous tile and start up over. bear in mind, there is by no skill adequate time or funds to do it suitable the 1st time, yet there is often adequate time and funds to do it over!!!
Q: but now we have decided to probably go with laminate tile in each. Mainly time is the big thing, I know I can put that in but not sure about tile. Anyways is this a good decision. Does anyone have experience with laminate tile and if so can you recommend where or what brand to look at. Also can you give me an idea of pricing..Thanks...
Are you talking about vinyl squares or Laminate flooring that snaps together? It makes a big difference. If it is vinyl squares Home Depot does have a huge selection, but it will look cheap and that stuff does not stick very well for long term in a very wet area. If it is laminate flooring it will look nicer and will hold up to the moisture better. You will need to caulk the perimeter with silicone. (water on top is o.k. water under the floor and its all over very quickly.) Hope this helps
Q: Dongpeng tiles I know more famous, but Dongpeng sanitary ware is their home Well? Dongpeng still have to sell sanitary ware?
Is the same company. Dongpeng made tiles longer than sanitary ware for a long time. Sanitary ware should only do more than ten years it But the size of the company can also control the quality of the better. I think Dongpeng's toilet is really good. Porcelain do good
Q: I need pink ceramic 4x4 tiles to repair an old bathroom. At least 80 of them. Where might I find them?
1 st try and determine whos tile it is, this will help cut down the looking time and possibly stop your looking all together .. If you have 1 spare tile look on the back to see if there there is any lettering on the back , this I ll help you with if you need help. Measure the tile , if its 4 3/8 ths you don t need to look at Florida tile, if its 4 1/4 start with American Olean and Interceramic if the tile is 15/20 years or older.. Anything else start by going to tile distributors and tile shops taking a tile or a pc with you. Realizing that you may not get a perfect tile match because of dye lots and shading even after a couple months this can be a problem.. Any questions e mail me through my avatar and I ll be glad to help and you can check my qualifications there .. GL
Q: How to look at the quality of tiles
Not a professional to buy tiles, as long as the attention of tiles glazed light, flat, slippery, delicate, color should be clear, the pattern should be uniform, percussion to crisp (cooked), the size to be consistent. I see that Bacheng is a good tiles.
Q: Renovation of the new house is good with tiles or wooden floor ah? Which of the two are you expensive?
Of course the floor is expensive. But the bedroom if the tiles will make people feel cold no sense of warmth. Similarly, the kitchen bathroom if the floor, then it is not practical, that thing is not waterproof ah. So, to separate the equipment.
