- Q: Apparently my computer has a 300 watt power supply. I am wanting to purchase a new graphics card but apparently in order to get a better graphics card then my existing card, Geforce 8400, I need a larger power supply.What will I need to purchase to increase the power supply to 500 watt and is it really worth buying all this? I am thinking I might aswell save up a bit more and buy a new computer.Any help apprietiated, thank you.
- it depends on what you have in your existing computer. I did a quick check regards power consumption on a couple of different set ups and you could well get by with out having to change your PSU at all if you chose the right video card. I checked an Athlon II 250 with 2 sticks of DDR2 a single hard drive and a single burner with your card and then changed to a Radeon 4670 and a 5670. Both the Radeons did not need to have a PSU bigger than 350W. I next checked a Pentium D at 2.8GHz (yup a P4 roaster) with a similar set up and video cards and was quite surprised that it would make do with a 400W unit. I have been quite impressed with the performance and low power usage of the recent Radeon cards, especially the mid and low end ones. As a 300W unit was mostly used in low end boxes, you may indeed want to consider a new machine. I find that the current crop has some real interesting low and middle range offerings starting at about $400. YMMV. BTW a 500W unit is a decent choice if you intend on keeping your box and upgrading it. Good luck.

- PCI express 4 pin to 6 pin power adapter it takes the 2 4 pin molex connectors that connect to a fan or a CD rom or hard drive/ect into 1 pci express 6 pin adapter. People use them if they don't have the 6 pin pci express on their power supply they use the adapter to connect extra 4 pin molexes to use for their video card/devices

- I okorder /... That is an exact replacement part for the Neo Power supplies. On a side note, not too many people are aware that Antec doesn't actually make power supplies. Antec sells a lot of power supplies, but they are all made by other companies. If I knew who made your specific Neo model, I might be able to find an exact replacement part sourced from whoever made that power supply, also.

Its about my PS3, when I was flying to Lebanon (which I am in now) my PS3 power cable got taken and thrown away by the airport officials the second time my bag was scanned.....so now I can't play any games because of this, it sucks goat balls, I know but my question is.... - i have no idea what ur cable looks like, u should sue them lebanon people for wat they did and u should consider going to the nearest city, country or town that provides a wide variety of appliances, accessories and whatnot. if u still have no luck, order 1 from OKorder or have them send it to u from canada

- The sata power connector provides 3.3, 5v and 12v as well as two ground connections (in between the 3.3 and 5 and 5 and 12) I believe. Anyway, for the power connectors, a single pin has a maximum rating of 1.5A or so, and so they provide three pins if a device needs needs more current.
- Q: i just moved from canada to asia and the voltage in canada was 110 and here its 240 so i have a ps3 and i plugged it into a converter(converts voltage). After im done playing i noticed that the power cable is warm and you could move the two positive and negative prongs very easily as if they were about to come out of the cable. - You need a good power converter (appropriately rated for the PS3's power consumption) with a proper American style socket, or replace the PS3 power cord with one better fitting to the receptacle on the converter transformer.

- No the power cable is not the same. The video cable is the same though. It's the same for SNES, N64 and the Gamecube

- Check first for any factory made holes that are not in use or have extra space to be used. If you are explorer is anything like my Taurus I would say somewhere near where your steering wheel connects to the firewall. But it will be kinda risky around that area since you would have to be careful for your power steering.
