Q:does anyone know a website that has like a chart with pictures of the different power supply connectors and where in the desktop computer they go all I know is the 24 pin goes to the motherboard and the 6 pin goes to my graphics card
Its on your motherboard factory web site. usually there is a 4 or 8 pin for the mobo PCI bridge, sata, pata, power connectors for drives. smaller for floppy, blue wire for PSU fan speed report. just find out what FORM you need, most are ATX.
Q:when i bought my motherboard it came with two 4-pin to sata power cables but i see that the power supplies have a sata power cable on it how do i connect these i have no idea how to do this
if your power supply has sata power supply, there is no need to use the 4 pin adapter. most of power supply has 4 pin. consist of 4wires color red,2-black and yellow. and you cant go wrong connecting these pins, for they wont fit, if tried to connect on other way
Q:In the middle of the page there is a section called Connectors, i suppose those are the cables attatched to the PSU, but in total there are 17 cables so maybe i am wrong???It says that there are 6 SATA Cables that look like SATA Power Cables and are i guess haha.I'm pretty sure that the answer is yes, the PSU does have 6 SATA Power Cables attatched to it, but i mean when spending $750 on a gaming computer i wanna be sure lol.
SATA Power Connector: 6 - YES it does have. If your spending $750 on a computer i'd suggest you get a branded power supply, they last longer and will supply your video card with enough juice to get the job done. what kind of video card are you getting? depending on what card your getting 500 watts may or may not be enough, as the new nvidia cards are very juicy :)
Q:Two things:1.) Why when we're using an AC to step up the voltage the power has to remain constant?2.) Why is it if we increase the voltage by a factor of 100 we have to decrease the current by a factor of a hundred and therefore I^2R is decreased by a factor of 10,000
Power is generated at the power station and transferred to the end user your home by means of power cables. Unfortunately, some power is always lost in this transfer process. It's power NOT Voltage OR Current that is required to operate your home electrical appliance. Yes, current and voltages are involved ;but it is the PRODUCT of these two that makes up the power NOT the voltage or current individually. Power = Voltage x Current Power is lost in the cables as heat as given by your i^2R. To reduce the losses then we must reduce the current I. But, if I reduce the current and keep the voltage the same then the power will fall and my kettle/Xbox/curling tongs will no longer work at home. So, to keep the power up when reducing the current I must compensate by increasing the voltage and this means using a step up transformer. Near the homes, a step down transformer is used to reduce it back down again. Since the losses in a cable are a consequence of I^2R heating then it is important to reduce the current as much as possible when transferring power. If we assume the the resistance, R of the cable is constant, then a 10,000 reduction in power (power/10,000) gives P/10,000 = I^2 x R I^2 = Power/10, 000R I = square root of [const x 10,000] I = 100. Then using power = voltage x current reducing the current by 100 means increasing the voltage by 100 to keep the power the same.
Q:i soldered in one of those ribbon cables on to my hp's laptop power button cause the old ribbon was failing. anyways i am having some issues with this new cable1 the laptop will power on by itself if i insert the ribbon into the motherboard connector2 the only way to power off the laptop is to remove the cable from the mother board connector and that means opening up the whole laptop3 like i said it will power on by itself so that means that i cant turn it on/off with the power buttonevery thing is soldered correctly i dont understand also i am not sure but does the cable have to be like the old one cause the new one i soldered in looks the same? could it be that it needs that one particular cable replaced again? please help me i am sad
Time to hang up our computer repair skills and take it to a shop...
Q:3 * 185 + 1 * 95 What is the price of copper cable? Thank you friends help
Or with 6 points to the difference, but almost a few money, but you know when threading, 6 points is absolutely more effort, the line is also effort, the wire protection is also good!
Q:I got two hard drives. The cable connecting the hard drive has 2 connectors, does it matter which connector goes to the master drive and which goes to the slave drive? same question regarding the power supply. 2 connectors on the power cable, the order matters?
Ok, depending on how you set it up, cable select, and or master/slave, master slave setup it does not matter on the cable positions, cable select the end port on the cable is secondary.......
Q:Electrical equipment installation project "power cable laying" cable cross-sectional area refers to the cable cross-sectional area, or refers to the copper core cross-sectional area, such as 3 × 25mm2 refers to 25mm. 75mm2 or cable cross-sectional area of 490mm2? More
Calculation method: the amount of engineering calculation formula: L = (pipe length calculation + wire reserved length) × with the number of cross-section wire. Note: plastic pipe should not be flattened, cracks, no debris in the tube, cut the mouth should be flat, the nozzle should be shaved plastic wire pipe connection using glue bonding, plastic pipe bonding must be tightly tight, and in the pipeline plug on the plastic pipe plug, to prevent the paddle, plug tube concrete floor, wall and brick structure of the various switches, socket bottom box , The lamp junction box and the pipe connection must be connected with the wiring, is strictly prohibited plastic pipe directly into the junction box dark in the concrete junction box requirements with wet cement paper or plastic foam filled with internal, not allowed to use The cement paper packs its outside. Embedded in the floor, the shear wall of the plastic pipe, the junction box should be fixed firmly to prevent the shift
Q:Can anyone explain where I need to plug in the 6-pin cable for my ATI Radeon 1650 Pro graphics card? Or any pictures/diagrams? Thanks!
my PSU came with that adapter :P
Q:I'm looking to add another Light fixture on the other side of the garage, and wire it using the existing cable from the first light, I know running a normal power cable outside drywall is against code, but I've heard some people say you can use something like BX cable, or some metal encased cable outside of drywall and still be up to code? Is there a I can run this cable outside of the drywall using something like that, and if yes, what exactly would I need to use to accomplish this? I plan I running the wire from the right side of the garage door, up above the door, and to the left side of the door to install a matching light.
If exposed, you must use an armored cable or conduit. No if's, and's, or but's... Personally, I think conduit is your best option.
