Q:Hi all, I'm moving into a new apartment August 1, and I'm wondering how far in advance I need to call the power company, cable company, etc to set up service. I know this is probably a dumb question, but throughout college I moved into apartments where at least one of the other roommates was staying (I took over someone's lease who was moving out, but the other girls stayed so I was the only new resident). But I'm moving into a one bedroom, and I've never had to set these things up before so I just thought I'd ask what the standard time frame is. Is a month enough advance notice--should I start setting this stuff up in early July? Or sooner? They check your credit for outstanding balances on utility bills and base your deposit if any on that.

That link sorts the power supplies (ones in the 500 to 600 Watt range) by customer rating. DON'T cheap out on a power supply, you will only have headaches down the road. Stay away from companies like Rosewil and HEC for power supplies. I love the Antec brand, been using them in my PC builds forever (15+ years). Also, look for ones with a 120mm fan, they are a lot quieter. One note.... some computer manufacturers use a non-standard power supply, and you cannot retro-fit a standard ATX style power supply in their case. I have an old Dell that uses a really long and slim power supply that sits at the bottom of the case, and I am stuck with it unless I buy an upgrade from Dell (which aint gonna happen).

Q:u know the big power cable that hooks onto ur positive terminal. it's a piece of metal on the tip that's round and has a hole in the middle to hook it onto ur screw. my step brother cut the middle of it with pliers and alot of the top part is gone, is this the reason my sub isn't powering on? also it wouldn't fit on the screw obviously. so how do i fix this problem. get a different wire with a bigger end piece? thanks for ur time: buy a new end piece from a radio shack, you can hookem up pretty easily. i answered your other question too, but i just wnat the extra 10.

That's why your old PSU blew up. You needed to buy a step down voltage converter for avout 15 Euros or so. The Xbox PSU itself will handle the mains for whichever country it was designed for and convert the power to a DC voltage of 12v for any Xbox 360.
