- Q:If it is not run continuosly in what intervals should it be stopped and what is the standstill time?
- as long as you can monitor oil pressure and water temp and provide emergency shutdowns for both. It can run until specified oil change interval which is probably no more than 500 hours at a time.
- Q:I have two steel jerry cans that i used to carry gasoline in, now I want to store diesel fuel for an emergency generator in them. after I empty them will residual gasoline contaminate the diesel beyond usefulness?
- If you clean out the can, be wary of what you use. If you use water, let it dry before filling it. Since diesel engines apply pressure to diesel fuel to ignite it, regular gas can be ignited the same way ONLY to an extent (the extent of which I do not know). Also, consider a diesel fuel stabilizer for long term storage so it won't break down so fast.
- Q:For hydropower how much MWh can be generated with same capacity plant?. (Because plant never run for 24 hours of the day we need a factor to calculate above value)
- just multiply 100 MW by the number of hours in a year to get MW-hr per year 100 MW x 24h/day x 365.25 day/yr 876600 MW-hr / year If it's not running 24 hours a day, just substitute the correct number. .
- Q:I am looking for the stand by large generator 15-20kw (to use all the power on one transfer switch). The problem is that stand by generator require large propane tanks (expensive to install). I would like to find a stand by generator that i could run off gasoline and use all of it available power. I think this would the most economical solution. In case of propane/natural gas the cost of propane tank installation is significant. The diesel stand by generators are significantly more expensive. So far I have found tri-fuel13kw portable generator that has several outlets. In this case not all the power can be utilized.
- I don't get what you mean by not able to use all the power. The generator will produce it's rated output, and little more, from one or any combination of it's outlets - single or three phase, including the 12 volt charging system. The total output of the machine is available as a function of the total load connected, not the number of plugs or the variety of outlets - it is the total load that counts. Petrol is the least efficient, and the most dangerous fuel to use and store. The amount of fires involving LPG or similar fuels is a fraction of those involving petrol in road accidents for a start. A slow speed Diesel generator correctly sized for your normal load (allow 33% additional capacity for starting induction motors etc.) will use the least fuel, and be the longest lasting by a large margin of any of the choices you suggest above. The cheapest initial option will be a petrol powered system, but the most expensive to run, and the earliest to wear out. The running costs will be much cheaper on propane etc., and the engine will run much cleaner and last longer as a result. A high speed diesel unit will cost more than the petrol version, but will not be as expensive as the better slow speed types, it will be economical, but is not going to last as well as the slow speed models. Well made slow speed diesel units will cost the most to install, but will be the most economical both to run, service and in longevity. The cheapest initial option I have found, is always the most expensive in the medium and long range. If the unit is purely for emergency power, it should be run under load every month at least, and the fuel must be kept fresh, or treated and constantly monitored to withstand long term storage - this is where the propane storage is particularly effective. The worst thing that can be done with any backup power system is to allow it to sit for any length of time without being used. Many fail at critical times because of this.
- Q:Can someone please tell me what is the piston ring cap is for the 186FA Diesel Engine 10hp, fitted into the powermate PM6100DS / 6KW Generator.
- Just about all the rings you purchase new today come pre-gapped to the correct tolerance, just like spark plugs. Way in the past, of course back then it was necessary to check the gap. With such a small engine 1/16 is plenty.
- Q:I live in california, in the ventura count so anywhere close to there.
- Cities, Counties, and States each have surplus equipment sales. I have seen diesel generators in our State Surplus Yard. Another place is OKorder. How large a generator do you want? I can find one and give you the link.
- Q:Fuel tank is for generator and its a day tank the size of the tank filling line is 2
- The reason is to minimize the static Electricity
- Q:Can any anyone help me with this. The generator is a brushless, air-cooled diesel generator without AVR. It is kinda old and it's made from Japan. The manufacturer is Yanmar.
- Open up the end of the generator and check the capacitor. It may need to be replaced. You may also have to flash the field if it hasn't been used for some time. Try one of these techniques 1. Plug the electric drill into the generator receptacle. If the drill is reversible, move the direction switch to the forward position. Start the engine. While depressing the trigger on the drill, spin the drill chuck in reverse direction. This will excite the field and the generator will now produce electricity. If spinning the chuck one direction does not work, try spinning the chuck in the other direction as you may have the reverse switch positioned backwards. Use caution not to get your hand or other materials caught in the chuck. As soon as the field is excited, the generator will produce power and the drill will turn on. 2. If the engine is working fine, but there is no output voltage try this trick. It may work on standard alternator type generators, but not on those which use an inverter. It worked for me in the past, but try at your own risk. First check to ensure that all circuit breakers and fuses are ok. Shut off the engine and remove any cords from the generator. Plug in a cord with bare wires on the other end to one of the 120VAC outlets. Connect one end of the cord to a car battery. Very quickly touch the other wire to the other battery terminal. Do not leave it there longer than to create a few sparks or you may destroy the windings. If the residual magnetism in the alternator had weakened, this may be enough to get it started again.
- Q:I need these values for 400 KVa and 150 KVa plants in order to run an air pollution computer simulation. Thanks!. Volumetric flow is not useful for me,because i don't have any information about flow areas or diameters.
- This is a difficult question to answer accurately. The velocity of the exhaust gas is highly dependent on the size of the exhaust pipe. A smaller exhaust pipe, a much higher velocity --- a larger exhaust pipe, a much slower exhaust gas velocity. A 2 exhaust pipe would have about 2.25 times the velocity of a 3 pipe. The exhaust velocity is highly dependent as well on the RPM of the generator. Double the RPM, and there is much higher pressure, and much higher exhaust gas velocity. An attached article mentions that the exhaust velocity in some unspecified gasoline powered car --- and at some unspecified RPM --- is about 240 to 260 feet per second. autolounge /tech/exhaust.html
- Q:i need to do a project and i need a website that has info on why solar panels are more enviromentally friendly can you please give me some websites?
