They used to say that the dogs were attracted to the smell of the glue they used to put the carpet down. Is she chewing at a seam in the room. If not she may be attracted to some other smell in the manufacturing of the carpet or pad itself. You need to try to get her attention off it when she starts to chew. Or like the previous posts find something to spray there that smells or tastes bad.

Q: A new home I'm thinking of buying has been allotted a $16 per square yard carpet allowance by the builders. Is this low, reasonable, or high? Will this be enough to carpet the house with some of the higher end carpet such as stainmaster?Thanks!: its very low unless the builders have a discount at the suppliers for all the new home owners to use $16 psy will only allow you to get the basic quality carpet, and certainly nothing like stainmaster i would either renegotiate, or, ask for a total spend in amount, and use that to purchase a couple of good qulaity carpets and buy the rest yourself, a $16 carpet isnt worth having, it will look shabby in no time

What the linked sites recommend is steam cleaning, even a professional steam cleaning. Be sure to let the professional know your rugs have a flea infestation. The cost might be a couple hundred for a professional steam cleaning, but that is worth the cost to be rid of fleas . If you have small rugs you can run them through the a hot washer load, and depending on fabric, a dryer.

Q: i had a pro come to clean my carpet and he said that there secret cleaning solution was oven cleaner mixed with water is this true and what is your best home made solution to clean carpets: Steve, you should mention the fact that the cleaning solution was rinsed back out of the carpet. No pro would leave any type of cleaner in a carpet, as all pro's know how and have the proper equipment to rinse and extract. This is the secret to there success.
