- Q: I am having someone put in carpet tiles in a house and we have the carpet pad to go underneith. Does it go, Carpet pad, glue, and then carpet tiles? What should I tell them?
- I've never heard of any one putting carpet pad down before applying carpet tiles. I have seen them install regular carpet they always glue the pad down place the carpet on top of that. If you don't get a better answer to your question I would call Home Depot ask them. I did find the instructions below for installing carpet tiles but no mention of carpet pad. DIRECT STICK CARPET TILES The carpet tiles are adhered to the sub floor using Roberts 656 Carpet Tile Double Bond Underlay Adhesive. The sub floor should first be primed with Roberts 370 Floor Wall Primer prior to the application of the carpet tile adhesive. If the carpet tile is laid into a wet film of adhesive it forms an almost permanent bond between the carpet tile and sub floor. The carpet tiles may also be laid into the adhesive when it has dried to a clear tacky film allowing them to be more easily removed if repairs or replacement is required.

- I would not bother buying a pad specifically designed for an area rug. Instead get some rubber kichen drawer liners, or a roll of tool box non slip liner. It will work just fine. Hint, tape the liners to the bottom of your rug.

- Wait until the nailpolish dries. Then get a bottle of nail polish remover and pour some of the remover onto a rag or paper towel. Lightly dab at the nail polish spot until it dissolves away. This may take many paper towels to get it all up.
- Q: I have a big rug in my bathroom (Not huge, its about 5' x 3').. it's thick and has a thick rubber back. I don't know how to describe what it's made of, but it's not the usual kind of rug you would find to go around the toilet (with a toilet seat cover to match), it's a more expensive rug and the threads kind of loop up and back in.. lol Does that make sense? - You could try washing it by hand in the tub with soap or put it in the gentle cycle of the washing machine, or take it to the cleaners.
