Q: I bought a new ceiling light and wired it myself. But I cheated by just copying the wiring from the old bracket into the new one. I want to do the other ceiling lights in my home. Supplied with the lights I am using is a 3 - way bracket (sori if terminology is wrong). Anyway the old bracket I copied was 4 way. My lights are wired from the mains supply with 3 live wires, 3 neutrals, and 3 positives. The light unit only has one live/neutral/positive wire. What do I do with the extra mains supply wires? I hope I have made myself clear as I even I am confused. Many thanks.
One set of wires will be the mains feed the 2nd set will be the mains feed to the next light in the circuit and the 3rd set will be the switch wire. Copy like for like when changing them, taking care not to lose sight of the switch wire...
Q: I have a 200 amp main breaker just below my meter, which is mounted on a pole. The neutral wire coming in is run to ground. From this box, I've run 2 cables (1/0) ~80 ft to another box with a 150 amp main breaker. This box is grounded to an 8ft ground rod. I am wondering whether this setup (no neutral wire from meter pole to building) would potentially allow a ground fault without tripping the 200 amp main. For example, if somebody dug into the line with a backhoe? Oh yeah, the cable is in a 3ft deep trench that will be covered. Well for starters the wires that are at the radio are not the speaker wire, they are power, ground and data wires. The speaker wires are back at the factory tuner box in the drivers rear of the trunk behind the carpet. The tuner box is a silver box that is mounted to the rear drivers fender well and has the input and output for your speaker wires as well as your antenna. metra electronics makes a harness that plugs into the factory plug and that you have to run from the rear of the car up to the dash to put in an aftermarket radio. this harness also includes the antenna wire with the adapter for the factory antenna end. You also need to get a dash kit that will replace that factory dash piece so it will accommodate the new radio. It is a metra part number 99-5715. Hope this helps

dont even attempt to wire it up. call an appliance service and they can test the wires for current and properly wire it up.
