- Q: I got a rug burn on my toe Monday and not quite sure how to treat it. When I looked up how to treat rug burns, every site said that they were like 1st degree burns or a sunburn and should be pretty much treated the same way. However mine is open and for the first few days, was leaking pus and a clear liquid. It hasn't healed up yet and I have been treating it as a cut. It fizzes when peroxide is applied but today didn't do it as much (and hurts much less). Am I doing the right thing? Also is there a cool trick to get a band aid to stay on my toe? The burn is at the joint that is the foot equivalent of a knuckle.
- You cannot get a third degree rug burn. Third degree burns are full thickness: all the layers of skin and into the muscle is burned. You have a 1st degree burn. An open burn, yes, but still first degree. You scraped off a layer or two of skin, which is why it was leaking plasma. Stop using peroxide as that is often too harsh and causes more damage as it will kill the regenerating cells. Stick with a simple antibacterial cream or ointment and bandage it. If band-aids won't say on, buy some gauze pads and medical tape.
- Q: The previous owner of my home put up walls for separate rooms OVER existing carpet in the basement. He/she did not install baseboard along the new walls. I'm planning on replacing the carpet in the basement as well as installing baseboard along the walls. What should I do first? The carpet installer is going to have to cut the carpet from underneathe the walls in order to replace it. Should I wait until after the new carpet is installed or can I go ahead and put the new baseboard in regardless?
- You ll have to cut the carpet out and put the base on. Depending in what carpet you put in , the normal distance to leave the base up it just the thick ness of a normal base. Unless you have thin carpet and thick base use a few pcs of scrape.. Doing this will also stop the tracking and sawdust you ll track in on new carpet putting it in.. A couple of draw backs , but its minor.. Newly painted base, the paint isn t cured and can be easily scratched up from the carpet backing. This is hard not to do because of the backing of most carpets. If they are painted be prepared for some minor touch ups . Even care full installers it can happen.. GL
- Q: I just bought two six week old puppies today; one for me and one for my boyfriend. we both love them to death but the thing is, I have a rug in my living room everytime we put them on the floor, they poop or pee on it. I guess the reason why is because its brown have pieces that come up as if its grass. the poop is real hard to clean out of it. I asked my mom to take it out the living room but I dont think she will. When we catch them doing it, we hurry up pick them up take them outside but by time we take em out, they're done. Its confusing because we think they want to get off the couch play but instead they poop pee then get right back on the couch fall asleep. my mom doesn't know that they've done it yet. What can I do to stop them from pooing peeing on this carpet?
- First okorder /. They need their litter and dam to help with the bite inhibition. Third.. young pups shouldn't be given a huge space. Keep them more confined on a floor surface that will be easy to clean if they do have accidents. You are seeing that even at 6 weeks they are knowing when they want to go which is good and helps the training, but they are far too young to hold it long enough to get somewhere really. You will get accidents so put them where it doesn't matter. Google crate training puppies.. Fourth.. please do not put them on a couch / sofa. Just put the puppy fell of the sofa or similar in the Search Y! Answers box and see how many deaths or serious injuries are caused by this. Be very careful.
- Q: We've lived in our house for almost two years and have the most annoying rug in the living room. It sheds constantly and it's like having a pet! - Hi there I don't know what your budget is but if I had a baby I would do one of two things. remove the carpet and put down a floating floor and use a baby blanket or barricade off a section section of floor make sure that section is again properly covered with baby blanketing
- Q: I am moving into a new house and the landlord left his red curtains behind and I do not plan on replacing them. What color throw rug can I purchase to match them? My couch is a tan color and I usually like neutral tones, which is probably why the red curtains are throwing me off. Any suggestions? (Would like a rug that would work with several color schemes)
- You could get an oriental rug that has some sort of red/tan design on it. Those colors seem to be pretty common for throw rugs.

The house is kind of older, so it's going to be kind of tricky finding good newer style furniture that won't clash with the rooms. The basement has gray carpet (blah) with wooden walls that have sort of a mix of green and light brown color.
- I love the idea with the navy and the orange! Very cute, modern, and classy. The walls might not match, but its worth a try. I think it will work. This may seem a little crazy, but you could get like the paint swatches at Lowe's or Home Depot of navy, orange, grey, or whatever colors you want and hold them up to the walls to see if they clash. It's worth a try.

- shaw carpet is good carpet 55 oz is great the most important thing is to get the best is a 8lb padding. you can cut cost on carpet but if you use the standard crap padding it wont felt as nice and your carpet will last about half as long as it would using the good padding.
- Q: is it good to use a very thin carpet at home?
- It's not very comfortable and warm to step up, but you don't need to worry about worms or something like that. it is easier to clean up with a vacuum cleaner. thin carpet can't be used long, it may be broken a few months later, and others are almost the same.
