Q:how do i fix my Pergo floor?
The material is a laminate. It is like trying to repair a kitchen counter top. It cannot be done. The easiest thing would be to put an area rug over the chips.
Q:floor 13 question! please help kinda freaky!?
It's always like that, no 13th floor. it is a supersticious thing...it has to be. I understand that long ago it was understood that for bad luck sake, no hotels or ny tall building would have floor 13.I can't remember off hand where I read it, but I do recall tha fact.
Q:sea floor spreading and magnetic pole?
The Mid Oceanic Ridges are thin parts of Oceanic crust where under sea Basaltic Volcanoes erupt along fissures and push the oceanic crust outwards causing sea floor spreading. This lava is called Mid Oceanic Ridge Basalt (MORB) and happens along fissures in all ocean floors. The MORB is rich in magnetic crystals. These magnetic crystals align themselves along the North South magnitic polar axis and solidify into Basalt rock shortly after eruption freezing the magnetic crystals in place. An oriented piece of this rock can be used to know the direction of North and South Pole at its time of eruption. As the magnetic pole changes, the new MORB again records the new orientation. As this volcanism is a continuous process, a continuous sampling outward from Mid oceanic ridge gives a complete log of the magnetic variations called 'polar wanderings' This tells us that the location of magnetic poles at the time of eruption. This evidence suggests that magnetic north pole was earlier in the Hudson Bay and before that in Siberia. Another related fact here is that, as the sea floor spreads along the Mid Oceanic Ridges, it subducts (goes inside the mantle) along the ocean's edges in areas called 'trenches' and melts again. This happens along the contact of the Oneans and Continents. This whole process is called 'convection current'. In the Atlantic, this whole cycle takes about 225 Million Years. So we do not have any magnetic reversal records of earlier periods. And the oldest rock on the seafloor in 225 My old. Wheras we can find rocks upto over 3.2 Billion years old on the continents.
Q:How can i stop the squeaks in the floor?
I assume we are talking about a travel trailer. Some more description of the vehicle & the problem would be helpful. Although the problem can be caused by loose screws or bolts where the floor is secured to the chassis, it is almost always caused by a plywood floorboard that is loose from a crossmember within the floor itself. Often the problem will occur where two sections of flooring meet at a seam, where the loose one will rub against the edge of the one next to it. Many times the situation is as a result of water intrusion, damaging the wood or the fasteners. The correction is to resecure the loose board back down to the crossmember. It can be screwed or glued into place. This is easy enough, except that the carpet or vinyl flooring may need to be lifted to access the area, and if the wood is water-damaged additional work might be needed. An experienced RV technician can evaluate the problem pretty accurately just by walking on the area. You might run it by a reputable shop and ask for an inspection, and a free estimate.
Q:Complete plastic floor cover for car?
Many early 1960's vehicles only had plastic floor coverings without any carpet to muck up.
Q:what type of barrier should go under vinyl stip flooring?
You don't need to put any barrier under Allure, but you do need the floor they are going on to be perfectly smooth and firm. If it isn't smooth, any bumps or dips will eventually show through the vinyl. If it isn't firm, the vinyl will get dents where any furniture sits, or anything else sits for any length of time. If the glue is smooth, I would do nothing before installing the Allure. If it isn't, you are going to have to use a solvent to remove it or install some thin plywood to give you a smooth hard surface. I think I would have left the old tiles and smoothed them out with an embossing leveller.
Q:asbestos in vinyl flooring?
have it tested. that is the only way to know for sure.
Q:Composite floor construction process
1. After the ground mortar. Can be dry. Laying moisture-proof paper. Add pest control against termites. 2. When the floor is laid. Choose the direction of laying. Wood flooring paving the best according to Shun Guang paving, so that the floor seams will not see the special display, the majority of the floor of the paving is to shop into the vertical paving, paving before you try to fight, so that you can put Loss to a minimum. Master is also more serious and responsible, this is a large piece of the floor to set the floor of the floor, so that a small floor can be just spread to that piece, so the use of small, so as not to waste material. 3. When laying the baseboard, must be fixed firmly. So as not to loose in the future.
Q:Painting the garage floor.......?
If you use paint its going to peel. The epoxy coating (sold at home depot / lowes) will work great but i think the floor has to be above 50 degrees or so. Check with manufacturer.
Q:I am looking for some cheap flooring!?
Here's what I did - it's unconventional, but its cheap and has worked great for me. Your floor surface needs to be level and you should have access to a table saw. I bought 4' X 8' sheets of 3/8 oak veneer panels. Laid complete panels on the floor, cut to fit, used liquid nails to glue them to the subfloor and then tiny finishing nails evenly spaced around the edges. Then a couple coats of a light varnish and sealer. It looks great. With an area rug in the center of the room, most people won't even guess that's not a 'real' oak floor. Be a little more careful when moving heavy furniture, etc. on it though. If you gouge it, you'll go right through the veneer pretty easily.
