- Q: I have a gig with my band and we need something to use as an amp stand. i was thinking a foldable chair would work the best, help?
- Most likely not, if it's a stage amp. You're going to be making a lot of noise (assumably for a long time!) and the vibrations tend to move things about, even things as big as amps on chairs. It'd just be better to lay it down on the floor. If you really want it risen above the ground, try using something more stable, like a table or stool.
- Q: Does anyone know if churches rent out chairs for private weddings ?
- I assume you are talking about renting chairs for the reception, and the answer is, it depends. Each church is different. But usually, if you rent the hall, chairs and tables are included in the price. Otherwise, if you have a caterer, they can arrange for the chairs as well. If you use the church for the ceremony, there will be chairs (of course) in the sanctuary. If you have the ceremony in the reception all, then again, the chairs usually come with the space. If for some reason you have to rent chairs, however, the cost is not too bad. We needed to do it for a big party in my family (not in a church), and the rental company arranged to deliver the chairs and pick them up. I don't remember the price right now, but I remember being surprised at how reasonable it was. There are so many big expenses for a wedding. Chairs are going to be only a minor part. - Q: Given a weight and the angle of the legs, how do I calculate how much force each leg of a chair supports?I'm kinda-sorta sure of how to do this problem in 2D, but I have no idea how to do it in 3D.
- Assuming that each leg is identical and positioned at equal distances to each other, they should each support an equal fraction of the total weight, unless the weight isn't being put on the chair equally. e.g. if a four-legged chair, with legs peripendicular to the floor, has to support 100lb, each leg should support 25lb each. If the legs are at an angle, just use the leg as the hypotenuse of a right trangle, the 25lb as one side of the angle, and use trigonometry to find the force (length) of the hypotenuse.

- Many adjustable chairs have a thing which resembles a shock absorber in the support stem. You allow air IN or OUT to adjust the height with a manual valve. It sounds like the valve is defective and leaking, which allows the chair to sink as you say. There are NO user repairable parts, so it is time for a new one... You can TRY rapidly cycling the valve several times to see if it will seal again, but once a leaker, it is most likely always a leaker...

- They might be scared or probably lack of trust. What you could is encourage them come from under there but at their own pace. Do it with alot of love and compassion. It might even be their favorite place to eat.
- Q: hello all. I need a creative way to make car tires into chairs... think its possible?
- Maybe cut a quarter of them out, then find some way to secure actual seats and backs of chairs to them. Then add supportive legs. I wish I had a way to visually show you what I mean,but I hope you understand that. If not that way, then perhaps, depending on how big they are, you could eihter cut them in half or leave them whole and put two next to eachother forming a couch and use two more (or two halves) as the back. Either way be sure to secure some sort of padding onto it, because tires arent' the comfiest things to sit on. Good luck! Sounds like a creative plan. If neither way of mine works, try googling it.
