1.Description

Aluminium foil (or aluminum foil) is aluminium prepared in thin metal leaves with a thickness less than 0.2 millimetres (8 mils); thinner gauges down to 6 micrometres (0.24 mils) are also commonly used.[1] In the United States, foils are commonly gauged in thousandths of an inch or mils. Standard household foil is typically 0.016 mm (0.63 mils) thick, and heavy duty household foil is typically 0.024 mm (0.94 mils). The foil is pliable, and can be readily bent or wrapped around objects. Thin foils are fragile and are sometimes laminated to other materials such as plastics or paper to make them more useful. Aluminium foil supplanted tin foil in the mid 20th century.

Aluminium foil acts as a total barrier to light and oxygen (which cause fats to oxidise or become rancid), odours and flavours, moistness, and germs, and so it is used broadly in food and pharmaceutical packaging. The purpose of aluminium is to make long-life packs (aseptic packaging) for drinks and dairy goods, which allows storing without refrigeration. Aluminium foil containers and trays are used to bake pies and to pack takeaway meals, ready snacks and long life petfoods.

4.FAQ:

1)what is aluminum?

Aluminium (or aluminum; see spelling differences) is a chemical element in the boron group with symbol Al and atomic number 13. It is a silvery white, soft, nonmagnetic, ductile metal. Aluminium is the third most abundant element (after oxygen and silicon), and the most abundant metal in the Earth's crust. It makes up about 8% by weight of the Earth's solid surface.

Aluminium metal is so chemically reactive that native specimens are rare and limited to extreme reducing environments. Instead, it is found combined in over 270 different minerals. The chief ore of aluminium is bauxite.

Q:Something rather disturbing has been happening in our refrigerator recentlyWhenever I cover a container with aluminum foil and put it in the fridge, something drips down on it and eats holes in the foilI've looked on the ceiling of the fridge, and there is no liquid other than what looks like water thereWhat could be dripping down and destroying the foil?
Because glass is non-porous (no pores or openings to let anything soak in), markers are safe to useI have used dry erase markers on windows and mirrors and wiped them off with an eraser or tissueSharpie markers are also OK, but require a little more rubbing to removeDon't use on porcelain (like a coffee cup), because they are porous and will stain.
Q:How to test the withstand voltage of capacitance?
Simple test:the two aluminium lead wire rolled up like the electrician high-voltage shaking unit(produce high voltage)and voltmeter and capacitance connected in parallel like revolving unit to the measurement and read the voltmeter. The voltage should be higher than withstand voltage. take the advantage of capacitance aluminium of restoring and measurement.
Q:What can i use to resemble this item?
I suggest that you are so used to the supermarket inferior cheesecakes that you don't recognize a really great homemade one, which do taste different than commercial cheese cakeEDIT: I also agree with plumdumpling.cream cheese is NOT vile at all.however, if you don't like it at all, I don't see how you can eat cheese cake because cheese cake is, at its most simple, flavored baked cream cheese.
Q:Arrange the elements in order of increasing electron affinity si, al, s, p, cl?
Offer to your neighbor to wash their carCost is minimal you could make a 10 spot easily if you do a good jobDo that three times a day on good days.
Q:My home has 60 year old windows in the basement, very old, lots and lots of wasted heat in my home in the winterI am unemployed, not very much money and can not afford to buy replacement windowsI want to cover the whole window (every one) with insulation this winter, until I can afford to buy new windowsAre there any repercussions that will happen as a result of thatI'm thinking of covering them with a batting insulation typeAny thoughts if this would be effective or things I should think about, or ideas.?
It depends on many things
Q:Can somebody please solve some of the calculations for my lab? Here are some of the results from the actual experiment.Mass of weighing paper .4934 gMass of weighing paper and aluminum 1.4939 gMass of watch glass 30.9156 gMass of watch glass and dry alum 40.3578 gSo what I need to find out is the theoretical yield and the percent yield :Mass of aluminum 1.005 gMass of dry alum 9.4422 gTheoretical yield ?? gPercent yield ?? %
given: Mass of aluminum 1.0005 g Mass of dry alum 9.4422 g Theoretical yield ? g Percent yield ? % formula: theoreticalexp./theo x 100% percent absvalue exp.-act./actx100% step 1: plug values into eqn and solve step 2: check ans theoretical 1.0005/9.4422 x100% 10.60% percent abs value 1.0005-9.4422/9.4422 x100% 89.40% Note: typo found in mass given1.0005 instead 1.005
Q:How do I cook chicken breasts on the pit without drying them out?
I'd say, either wrap them in aluminum foil like someone else suggested in a previous answer, or marinate them, and keep basting them with the marinade and turning them to ensure even cooking and flavoringIf you want juicy grilled chicken, and aren't opposed to eating dark meat, I'd suggest that next time you grill, try purchasing boneless thigh meatIt cooks nicely and happens to come out far jucier than breast meat ever willI think the real secret to grilling chicken breasts, however, is to not over cook them, meaning you've got to watch them closelyWhen you see the first sign of the juice running clear, from the meat, you probably should start making plans to remove them from the grill Cheers.
Q:i dont have anything to smoke out of rght now and i dont have any rolling paper -.- how can i make a homemade pipe or bong (please no aluminum can/foil ones)or can i use likeidk normal paper? i also have a couple cigars so if in desperate i can make a blunt but i wanna save the cigars if i can.please no goody goody judgment, just legit answers
you may have paranoia or you're just totally normal everyone has they're fears of certain things it just all depends on what type of person you are You're olny 13 you'll grow out of a lot of this trust me hoped this helped!!!!
