Q:I purchased this chair online
It's a nice looking chair, but from what I can see of your living room, it doesn't seem to go. Your couch looks modern, what I can see of it, and the chair looks somewhat French Provincial. Is the position it's shown where it will be, or did you just place it there for the photo? It may not look bad at all, tucked away in a corner if your room is large enough, or even in a foyer by a console or table. I think if you move it away from the sofa a little bit, it might work. I like the browns and tans in your drapes. One thing you might try is to find a soft chenille fringed throw in a creamy beige color. Try draping it over the arm of the sofa nearest the chair. Or if the throw is not too bulky, try it over the back and arm of the chair. If that's where the chair is going to stay, try angling it back toward the window or door shown in the picture. Push your sofa down a few inches, if you can. Try to get a little more distance between the two pieces, if possible. Get a silk or real green plant or two - say a small palm and/or a basket of greenery- and place them on the floor behind the chair. You'll be surprised what this will do to soften the look. Replace the bright red sofa pillow with a richer, deeper red. Go for a darker red, like a berry color. Buy a pair of them when you find just the right color. Play around with the chair and placement before you send it back. You may be able to make it work, so don't give up until you work with what you've got, espececially if you love the chair. It's a classic design in a neutral color and even if you don't use it in your living room, it may work somewhere else. Good luck.
Q:I bought a chair for my home office. I'm never in the office unless I'm working. So, yes the chair would be deductible then. However, the chair caused far too many back problems. It was a bad 8-hour a day chair. So, I replaced it and moved it into my guest bedroom. It is no longer a deductible chair, or is it?
It was never a deductible expense. Generally speaking (with some exceptions), you can deduct the entire cost of something at one time only if it is something that is expected to last less than a year, like a sheet of paper that you use once and throw away. For things expected to last longer than a year, like furniture or computers, you deduct a small part of the cost, which is called depreciation, each year until you have deducted the entire cost. If you really want, you could try to deduct the depreciation of the chair for the time that it was in use, and then calculate the taxable recovery for the conversion for work use to personal use, but I think it would be too complicated for the tax savings to be worth the time.
Q:so I have a good brand chair for gaming and after waking up one day I went to sit down to send out some business emails before getting to work and I noticed that it's leans back a lot further now. I hope that made sense and to anyone who has knowledge with stuff like this can you let me know how to fix it? thank you!
Look for cracked or failing welds or joints. Those are frequent issues with office chairs over time. If you locate one clean the metal and apply a new weld. That central mount point used without bracing is a really bad design used by most chairs. The metal flexes and fatigues. Especially when moving around and leaning.
Q:I have this executive office chair which, through an unfortunate turn of events, one of the legs on the base split off and makes it extremely difficult to sit in.I've tried repairing it with simple things like wire, rope, and JB-Weld, but the poor leg always seems to come off no matter what I try.I've looked into buying a new base, but after looking at the prices it seems it would be a whole lot cheaper just to buy a new chair. It just seems a waste to throw out a perfectly good chair just because one of the legs broke off, though. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can use to use to try to fix it? Or maybe is there a store out there (online or not) that sells bases to executive office chairs fairly cheap? Thanks!!!
The only thing I can think for an easy solution would be, maybe at your office, in the near future, they might throw out a similar model chair with something else wrong and you could save the base from that one (assuming it fits). Even if it is a different brand, it might still fit, I'm thinking a lot of these chairs are coming from the same Chinese factory, they just put different labels on them. You might check with the guys that do clean outs rubbish disposal at your office and see, if they run across a junked chir, if they will save it for you so you can scavange the base. One other way. If the bottom of the legs of your chair forms a relatively flat surface, you might be able to cut out a circle of heavy (like 3/4) plywood that is about the same diameter as the base. Make some cut-outs so the wheels and the center post will clear. Then firmly bolt down the legs to the plywood. It might be better to use U- bolts that go around each leg, (including the broken one), they need to go right through the wood with a metal plate or fender washers nuts on the botttom. Whatever you do make sure it is safe, so you don't lean back and have structural failure, new chairs are cheaper than brain surgury! It might be a good idea to not have the secretary sitting in your lap to take dictation any more.
Q:I've been looking for a good massage chair for under $800 (preferably less) with the leg massager. I'm interested in the ijoy 320, but I can't fint it for under $999 anywhere! Any suggestions?I did find an ijoy 100 with ottoman for $500+ but I haven't tried the ijoy 100. Is it worth it?
Ijoy 320 Massage Chair

Q:I told her to wait until I read the reviews. If not this chair, do you kids have their own chair to sit in? Where did you get it and how much did it cost you?
My girls got one for Christmas and I tolerated it for about a year. I mean we already have a couch a loveseat and a chair so it was just unecessary...plus it was princess and bright pink. They sat on it, but mostly just played with it. It was easy to wash the cover though..... They do have a child sized wooden rocker, and a table with chairs which gets used a lot.
Q:Ok one of my cats (layah a one year old Manx) got diarrhea and it got all over one of my kitchen dining chairs. There was also a nice mushy nugget on another chair. I clean the poop off the floor, and took a soapy hot sponge and cleaned the chairs (they have a fabric seat) is that enough? Or is there more that I need to do?
Lysol spary to disinfect. If you have stains, there are many pet stain removers
Q:My wife bought a dining room set long before we met. Today, one of the chairs just broke. I like the set, and I'd like to replace the chair. Any clues where I might start looking? The chair was purchased as part of a 5-piece set at a Kroger in Knoxville, TN. It's not a great set, but it's decent-looking. I'd hate to purchase a new set just for a chair. Underneath each piece is a sticker:Made in ChinaCCLF08 OF747I have NO idea what this is. I don't expect anyone to know where to FIND such an item. I just want some ideas how to start. Google searches yield limited results. Thanks!
take some photos of a good chair and go shopping at the furniture stores ... one of those stores will help you locate a chair that will look close to the others ... and quit throwing furniture ... SERIOUSLY .... a small and independent furniture deale
