Q: I am replacing an electrical outlet that currently has 3 white and 3 black wires plus the ground wire. The bad outlet has 3 holes already in it for each of the wires but my new outlet does not, there are only 2 holes and/or the 2 screw on each side. How do I install this new outlet? Do I need to do the pigtail here?
For the best answers, search on this site https://shorturl.im/awtUt Try this. take the plug out of the box, so that just the 7 wires are hanging there. Of course, your power is off before you do this. Take the 3 white wires and twist all their copper ends together. Then flip the breaker on. If the breaker does not trip, most likely those white wire are all neutral. If the breaker does trip, one of those white wires is being used as a hot (black) wire. If the breaker did not trip, turn the breaker off again. Now twist all 3 black wires together, flip the breaker on. If the breaker does not trip, the black wires all belong together. If the breaker does trip now, one or two of the black wires is being used as a neutral or is coming from a different source, such as another breaker or going through the outlet to somewhere else in the house. If the breakers don't trip either time, all black wires belong together and go on the brass screw of the outlet (or the side with the small opening). All the white wires go on the silver screw (or large opening of the plug). If it doesn't work, you will need an electrical tester to find out which wires are hot or wires that don't belong together because they may be a different voltage. Don't want to confuse you but there may be 220 volts in the plug between 2 of the black wires.
Q: I want to get an underground fence but i cant figure out what the difference in the wire they use and regular insullated wire. What is the difference and why can't i use regular wire instead of the wire that comes with the kit
There isn't anything special about the wire that comes with the kit, it is just wire. If you have already installed the fence and just need to enlarge the area you can use your own wire just make sure it is the same gauge wire as is already hooked up.
Q: i have a purple wire i have no clue what it goes to, i have a dark blue/brown wire i dont know what it goes to and want to make sure the i just cap off the orange wire…Can someone please help me-it is draining my battery
go to an xpert no1 over here can help u on ds :) enjoy
Q: Besides the speaker wires, what do the remaining 5 colored wires stand for on a stock 03 Mitsubishi Galant radio?

Q: I know that a fuse is connected to the live wire. And I was wondering; since a fuse and the circuit breaker are similar, would the circuit breaker also be placed so that both terminals of the circuit breaker are connected to the live wire? If not, would it be connected to a wire that connects a live wire and neutral wire?
The neutral wire is never connected to to a circuit breaker or fuse. It measures the current passing through the hot wire and opens if the current gets to high. Although the same amount of current passes through the neutral wire, an open breaker or fuse in that wire would let the load be connected to the hot wire but not to ground so you could bet shocked from it.
Q: A potential difference of 13 V is found to produce a current of 0.37 A in a 3.1 m length of wire with a uniform radius of 0.42 cm.(a) What is the resistance of the wire? (b) What is the resistivity of the wire? Please show work.
Voltage (Volts) = Current (Amps) times Resistance (Ohms) or V=IxR = R = V/I = 13/0.37 = 35.14 Ohms Resistance = Resistivity * Length/Area The longer the wire is, the more resistance it has. The larger the crossectional area of the wire (pi times radius^2), the less resistance it has Longer wires have more resistance, thicker wires have less 35.14 = Resistivity * 3.1/pi*0.0042^2 Resistivity = 35.14*pi*0.0042^2/3.1 = 6.281 x 10^-4
Q: cat chewed two wires computer speaker wireand wii sensor bar wire well i can't just buy new ones or replace the wire so i need to reconnect them some how using insulated ferrules and electric tape and wire strippers any suggestions how to do this properly do i crimp them together with insulated ferrules or solder them together?what else can i do?i'm clueless how this worksneed help
The wire nut option would work but wouldn't look the best. I would go to your local hardware store and get a butt connector and some shrink tubing. Slide the shrink tube over the wire. Then place each end of your wire into the butt connector(be sure to remove appr. 3/8 of insulation). Crimp the connector onto the wire. Slide the shrink tubing to cover the connector and heat with lighter. This will give a smooth, finished look. Much cleaner than tape.
Q: i heard there are many diferent copper wire but i only know 2 kinds.1 is for eletric and the other is for crafts. So what else is there?
Copper wire for electric/electronic cables has lots of categories, such as solid, stranded, coaxial, ribbon, power, small signal, stripline, flexible, twisted pair, and others. But your division into crafts/electric is not too useful, as either type of wire can be used for the other. You can use electric wire for crafts and vv. You can also get copper wire for construction use. .
Q: i have a 2002 hyundai sonata and i need to find a wiring diagram but i cant find it at all, please help
a haynes repair manual for your car at an auto parts store it should have what you need look to see before you buy it
Q: I NEED TO CHECK IF A WIRE IS GOOD ON A FITNESS MACHINE. HOW DO I KNOW IF ITS GOOD? WHAT SHOULD THE OHMS BE?
any wire, unless it is very long or very thin, will measure zero ohms on an ordinary ohmmeter. But check for continuity does not completely check a cable. Most cables have several conductors in them, so you need to check each one end to end, and check resistance between the wires. Between them, it should measure open or infinite ohms. But the cable could still be bad. Tell us the details please. .
