- Q: So ground wire, start anywhere i suppose?Where does ground wire hook up too?why you need to ground out your system?Only need 1 ground wire?
- yes only one from the amp to the battery with an inline fuse
- Q: why use a large gauge spark plug wires
- Wow, both answers are wrong and one that took engineering classes bashing on somebody that didnt. Both answers sounds dumb and foolish Spark plug wires. 99% of the larger wires is ONLY the outside jacket thats larger. Not the inner wound wire. Stock will be a 5mm to 7mm size. This is the size of the outside dia. An 8mm, 8.5mm, or 10mm plug wire will have the same size inside dia but with a thicker jacket on outside. This thicker jacket only helps to prevent nicks, rips, cuts in jacket that gets down to wire, also makes wire able to withstand a higher temp from under hood parts For the Mech. Eng.. Please tell me how you could ruin the spark plugs for too much voltage by using larger wires The voltage output in set up the coil. If the coil puts out 30,000 volts DC, then putting a 0 ga. wire on it will NOT change the amount of voltage that gets to the plug. A wire don't add voltage to the coil. Now the plugs resistance can and will change. A stock type wire may ohm out at 3,000 ohms per foot. This will keep some of the voltage from reaching the plug. Better, performance wires will ohm out at 50-400 ohms per foot, but this has nothing to do with the thickness of wire. Its the design and the carborn wound inner wire Lower ohms is better
- Q: What are the basic characteristics of wire resistance strain gages?
- The resistance value of the components size and temperature, material, length and cross-sectional area, the measure of the size of the resistance is affected by temperature is the temperature coefficient of resistance value, which is defined as the percentage change in temperature rise every 1 degrees. The main physical characteristic of resistance is that the electric energy is heat, and it is also a component of energy dissipation. Resistance usually acts as a divider and shunt in a circuit. For signals, AC and DC signals can be passed through resistors.
- Q: I am wiring a cd player in my truck is it necessary to get a wire harness that is made for the year make and model of my truck or can I just cut the factory terminals off and just connect the like colors?
- While a wiring harness isn't strictly necessary, It's highly recommended. The wiring color code on an aftermarket head unit will match up properly with a vehicle-specific wiring harness. The wire colors of your vehicle wiring will NOT be the same as the wire colors on your aftermarket unit. You have to match the wires up according to function, not according to color.
- Q: I notice my 10/100 Ethernet wire uses 4 wires (2 twisted pairs). I'm curious what each wire is used for. I understand one pair is for Tx (transmit) and the other for Rx (receive) but why does it need 2 wires for each? I assume bits of data cross on one, but what of the other?

- Q: When was the hot-wire anemometer invented? and who was it?
- Sir Charles Wheatstone in 1843 modern anemometer use ultrasound hot wire sensors are used as mass air flow but did not find original usage! Guru
- Q: I m wondering if there s a Neutral Wire in this picture (yes I turned off the breaker to get this photo). I want to put in a quot;Smart Light Switchand they require a Neutral Wire. I ll have an electrician do the work, but want to make sure the wire exists first.
- The wiring appears illegal The wire connected to the 2 black wires appears to be a bare copper wire. If this is the case, it is illegal and very dangerous. The bare wire is a ground wire. Someone use a 2 wire cable with ground in place of a 3 wire cable with ground. It appears they used the ground wire to supply electricity to the switch and receptacle. Use the common (Neutral) wire on the receptacle. A good qualified electrician will not use that wiring and will insist on correcting it. If the ground is being used as a current carrying conductor as it appears; this is not only a shock hazard but also a fire hazard. Have a licensed qualified insured electrician check this as soon as possible.
- Q: I know there must be a difference, and reason why some wires have a solid strand behind the rubber, or some have several strands. can someone explain to me how it works and the differences in wire. m trying to get my head into electricity. resources would be good too.
- it just depends on your application, take for example your house has either solid 12 gauge or 14 gauge copper wire. solid copper has less resistance and can handle more amperage compared to say a stranded 12 or 14 gauge wire. you wouldnt wire your vehicle with solid wire would you? i mean theres no point, you dont need the amperage and the resistance of the wire is negligent here due to that fact there is not any long distances in your vehicle, plus it would be a pain to wire a vehicle with solid copper wire. in AC voltage they sometimes use square rectangular wire due to the fact that ac voltage travels on the outside of wire, rather than threw the entire middle, so a square wire offers more surface area.
- Q: i have a 92 saturn and bought the wire harness, i put all the wires together and all that turned on was the theft light that comes on when you take off the face after that i tried putting the red and yellow wires together and it worked, just without the key having to be in the ignition and i think that is why the stereo gets so hot so can youall tell me how to wire it correctly?
- The red is the main power or acc power that comes on when car key is turned. The yeallow is for the memory for radio. Another word when u store a preset radio station that yellow wire supplies continues power to store mem for ever or untill u have to change batt. The reason y it worked when u hooked yellow and red to gether is they where both getting power. If one dosent get power it will no work. Check radio fuses for the yellow wire to see if it out. If u have manuel to car that would help. I had a mustang that with the yellow wire was dead i traced the wire tried to find the prob but could not. I ran a wire from batt to radio where the yellow wire hooked up. That is the same thing just try to keep the wire away from hot areas and door jams try to runn it through the firewall of the car.
- Q: wiring diagram
- just connect the ground (most important) and the black is hot the white is neutral. the ground is the bare wire. If you get it backwards the blades will spin in the wrong direction. just reverse the white and black. If you need to wire it to a 3-way switch, well I don't want to get into that.
