- The great instant spot remover! Use Shaving cream. If you have a spill and have no carpet spotter available, grab the shaving cream. It is particularly effective on makeup, lipstick, cofee and tea. work into the spot well and rinse with either cold water or club soda. When you spot clean carpet, never rub, as it will only spread the stain and will cause abrashion to the carpet fibers.

- Maybe using the shampooer on it so often is taking the life out of your carpet. It's good to use once in awhile, but I think a regular vacuuming would do the job. As for getting your carpet perked back up- there are attachments you can buy- some look like rakes and it will plush the carpet back up (it will only work if you have plush carpeting).
- Q: we are trying to shampoo our hall carpet, but someone had spilled quite a bit of laundry soap awhile ago and it doesn't seem to go away. Does anyone know a better way to get rid of this big blotch of soap on the carpet?
- Try diluting some vinegar in water and shampooing with that. Vinegar is used to cut oven cleaner cleaning solution making clean up easier, maybe it will work on the soap. My concern is how much water are you putting on the carpet? Saturating it could be damaging the under layer, promoting mold. You might consider cutting out that section, taking it to the sink or tub and running water through it until completely soap free, plot as much as possible out, let air dry and then use double sided carpet tape to reinstall it in the hall. They use carpet tape when installing carpeting when it must be seamed, so it's not a freakish idea.

- Hey Dont worry about that. There are various products for carpet cleaning. One product that i know is hydra extract that is non-foaming carpet cleaning shampoo removes old stains and marks. It contains optical brighteners which brighten cleaned carpets and will clean and restore most kinds of synthetic and natural carpets. It is very easy to use. - Q: scorched my carpeting. the lamp cord had a split and it broke leaving black scorch marks on my carpet.
- The only way you can remove the scorch marks off the carpet is to clip the black scorch marks off. Very carefully so you don't clip more than you need to clip. Hopefully it was across the top part of the carpet threads. When we had our carpets installed the installer told me to correct some threads that pop out is to clip on them rather than try to pull them out. So when you think of it I guess it is about the only way you can fix the scorched problem. If it is more than just scorched you can replace a small area with an other piece where it doesn't show or matter. Best of luck to you and hope you only need clipping.

- Q: It's pretty funny because we are both artist but can't seem to agree on a rug. My living room is bubble gum pink, yes and extremely wild color. My sofa is a sage or dull fern green. My coffee table is dark walnut. What color rug would you place in this room? My FI was looking at a sage color rug with modern flowers on it my only problem is that it doesn't have any pink in it. We are aguring if the rug need pink in it to match. I found a dark sage rug with light pink accents but I am afraid it's tooo dark. What do you think I should aim for- a darker green then sofa or a lighter green?Any adivce would greatly help. And NO I will not change the color of my walls, I love my Barbie on Crack PINK color!!
