- Q: i going to tile my whole house both floors bath room and all with the same tile it is a 20x20 tile diagonally where should i start and does it really matter where ?
- Start doing the largest area and do a 1/2 tile on the out side wall. All interior walls are supposed to be layed out to the out side and be square. Now if you have a long visible hall way near by, you may want to split that to get a good look at it from there. Its hard to positively say with out seeing it. I could visualize it then. Since this is a diagonal you cant control to much where the tiles land. If it were a straight lay, you d have a bit more control as to the layout. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar and check my qualifications there. GL
- Q: How does the tile stick up? The benefits of stickers? What is the difference between sticky and wet stickers? Do i want to be thin
- Want to thin point will wall flatness is good, the actual tile adhesive layer is less than 1cm; most of the thickness of the leveling layer, the general construction plaster 2 m error of about 1-1.5cm, then the actual paste tile gray The thickness of the need to reach 2-2.5cm, and then thin can not be friends, or paste in the glass is very flat on the basis of
- Q: What is the white powder on the back of the floor tiles?
- It is a brick bottom glaze, tiles in the kiln before the application of the brick at the end of glaze The main component: is alumina Purpose: to avoid the tiles in the high temperature state sticky furnace roller rod, resulting in tile deformation and the closure of the kiln and cause the roller break. Use: paving the time to brush with water on the line
- Q: Ready to buy tiles, no conditions to buy the brand, and we look at a British brand, I would like to ask these two models about how much the sale price? LC-8823 and ZC-8001
- Tell the landlord do not like to listen to, you said the brand I was in the tile industry for so long, I basically have not heard. The The The The It may be my personal ignorant it, Oh ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ general you said the brand 800 * 800 market price (if the business is not black heart) probably: 25-40 between each piece, if beyond this price You buy it then. The The The The The Oh, if higher than the price of the proposed landlord to see: the new Pearl Group's brand, Mona Lisa, Hongyu, Enuo, the king, strong and other brands, are more reliable products in the end of the product.Or I answer those friends of those words: In fact, what brand is not important, it is important that you do not understand the tiles, teach some of the industry to identify tiles good or bad way, hope to help you:
- Q: My bathroom in my new house has the ugliest green tile halfway up the wall and then a different shade of green tile on the floor. My husband I have a little experierience with fixing stuff up, but this one has us puzzled. We want to tear the tile down and put up drywall. Then we‘d like to carpet the floor. We haven‘t got the nerve yet cause we don‘t know what to expect behind those tiles on the wall. Got ANY suggestions in my little dilemma???
- Well, if you have a little experience, all u have to do is chisel off the tile, then just cut out the wall behind the tile too because it is either cement board, or it will have way too much glue behind it to even bother getting it all off. After the tile is gone, just cut a nice straight line and replace the wall behind the tile. You should more than likely need 1/2 inch drywall depending on the thickness or your original wall. Its not hard at all to do, so just grab a claw hammer and a chisel and have at it. The removal should only take an hour or 2 depending on the size of the room, and from there its all downhill. If you need help on doing the actual drywall, drop me a email and i'd be glad to help! Have at it, just make sure when knocking out the old wall not to hit any pipes!! Hope this helped! Good luck with your project!!!
- Q: Ok the room is 12X16 thats 192 square foot right? well each box of tile is 30 square foot how many boxes would i need
- 192/32 =6.4 You'll probably have to buy seven boxes, but you'll use less than 6 1/2.
- Q: When tiling a counter top, do you need to remove the existing covering? I am assuming that I would. If so, should I apply the tile directly to the plywood? Will the plywood be wide enough?
- take the original tile off. Do not tile on the plywood. You have to put backerboard on top of the plywood, then you apply the tile to the backerboard. So it goes plywood....then backerboard .....then tile. It's easy, but also make sure your tiles are properly sealed. You can get water spots and stains on your tile that won't come out if they are not sealed. Good luck, don't be intimidated as it's fairly easy, just time consuming and messy. go to one of those free homedepot classes if you are not sure. They are 10 minutes and informative
- Q: Two tiles are randomly chosen one at a time and placed in the order in which they were chosen. Determine the probability that the tiles are:i.COii.Both vowels
- PART 1: On the first draw, you have 1 desired outcome (C) out of 7 possible letters. P(first letter is C) = 1/7 On the second draw, you have 1 desired outcome (O) out of *6* remaining letters. P(second letter is O) = 1/6 The combined probability is the product: 1/7 x 1/6 = 1/42 The other way to figure this out is to count the total possible outcomes. You have 7 tiles that could be picked for the first tile and 6 tiles that could be picked for the second tile. That's a total of 42 outcomes. Of these only 1 is the outcome of CO. P(CO) = 1/42 PART 2: On the first draw, there are 3 vowels out of 7 possible tiles P(first is a vowel) = 3/7 On the second draw, there are 2 vowels left out of 6 possible tiles. P(second is a vowel) = 2/6 = 1/3 Combined probability is the product: P(both are vowels) = 3/7 x 1/3 = 3/21 = 1/7
- Q: I believe the tiles were made in Mexico. They are light beige in color. They were installed in the master bathroom which has a shower stall, no bathtub.
- I tile every day of my life, and while not a major fan of sealers, I get it that many are, in the belief that they retard dirty and mold, etc. It will be a life long, occasional task however. It makes little difference where the tile was produced, what matters in your case is whether or not the tiles are glazed in the firing process. One would hope any contractor holding any level of intelligence would not install unglazed tile in a bath or kitchen. IF they are glazed, sealing is a useless procedure. There is no need to seal tile that has been glaze fired, essentially turning the surface into glass, NON porous. Certainly no matter what you seal, anywhere, the surface should be as clean as possible. Steven Wolf Just my two sense
- Q: Dont worry about looks with the dollar tile just want to know pricing pretty much on the tile and how expensive it is.
- If you are doing the tile work yourself, it will be cheaper than having one of those fiberglass shower enclosures put in. You are looking at the cost of tile (at $1/sqft.), grout ($10 or less), permabase/durock ($9 per 3x5 sheet), mastic ($30 for high quality), and caulk ($4), to get the job done. On an average size shower, this will bring your total material bill in at right around $200. This is based on entirely ripping out your old shower walls (back to the studs), and building an entirely new shower. A complete rennovation for $200. This is what I do for a living, and I can honestly tell you that you will save tons if you are handy enough to do this yourself. One side note on the pre-fab showers (fiberglass, urethane, etc) - we get a lot of calls to come out and remove mold from these types of enclosures. On most that I've seen there are a lot of corners and small nooks that moisture gathers up and sits in. Just something to watch out for should you go that method. Good luck to you, either way.
