Q:im 14 years old, 6 foot, 195 pounds and max 160. i only have 20 pound dumbells at my house to work with. what can i do to increase my bench press?-
I don't know what 20lb weights will do to directly impact your press. One exercise I like to with a 20lb or 30lb weight mainly keeps my shoulders stretched but works the abs too. If you have a bed or an ottoman foot rest next to a chair, and can lay flat with knees bent, feet flat (but not planted), and head (but not neck) dangling off, take one of those weights in both hands. With your elbows at your sides you'll form a triangle with your hands over your chest. Extend your arms up all the way, then back down. Primarily works the shoulder, but also stretches triceps and the chest muscles too. It might not be a bench press per se, but it works a different aspect of that muscle. Look for objects around the house, too. Load up a pack with some books, maybe Just be careful though because of the uneven weight distribution (in other words, if it feels awkward, don't do it).
Q:Cathy Johnson says she uses cold press illustration board for her pen and ink drawings in her book. I have the problem of the ink bleeding on to the paper when I stop the pen. I am using ordinary copy paper. Would illustration board help? Can you purchase it in a pad?

Q:I was wondering, does the french press require a larger amount of ground coffee to make the same amount of cups a drip brewer could make? It actually takes less ground coffee to make it in a French Press than in a drip coffeemaker, because you get more out of less--the French press usually holds less water, but you use less ground coffee--and it tastes just as strong as drip coffee (and can be made stronger) by steeping, rather than by using more ground coffee. The longer you steep it, the stronger it gets--and more flavorful. For a 2-cup French press you can use about 3 scoops (2 tbsp coffee measures) of coffee--in a drip maker you would use 4-5 for the same amount of water.
Q:Hey ^_^I am looking for some good, light-shaded pressed powder that has good coverage and isn't cakey/chalky. I am very pale so brands that have pale shades would be good for me and I do have a few blemishes but not major so good coverage would be needed. My one at the minute is quite cakey and you can easily see the powder so I would like one that is good at blending in. I live in the UK so please don't suggest ones that can be only found in walmart or another american shop but if it's online and the shipping is cheap, I could probably get it. Last of all, not something major expensive as powder only lasts me a couple of months as I have oily skin, not majorly though.Thank you ^_^

This is a question that only you can answer. Only you know your capabilities, and if anybody demands more than you are capable of, you need to tell them to go fly a kite. Clint Eastwood put it succinclty: A good man always knows his limitations. This doesn't mean that you should sell yourself short either. You should constantly strive to overcome your own limitiations, but there is a limit to everything, including how much your maximum bench press should be. Just try to improve your maximum bench press weight gradually, adding a few pounds from time to time. You don't mention what position you are playing for the football team, but that is important. If you are an interior lineman, you should be stronger than a wide receiver or a defensive back. The latter positions stress running speed and agility more than strength. Set realistic goals for yourself and try to reach them. Your next goal should be 150 pounds with the same number of repetitions. Keep adjusting your weight lifting goals upward, but keep in mind that you need to stretch those muscles too, or you will be prone to muscle strains, the most common sports injuries. I have included a link below to a yoga site which will help with this. Don't forget that rest and recuperation are very important too. Work your upper body on alternating days, and the lower body in between. I wish you a great football season, both individually and collectively.
Q:hello, im pressing a sunflower for my girlfriend, and i just got it, its just bigger than a CD rom, so its grown quite a bit, and i snipped the stem off, and it has this leafy backing, which wouldnt let me properly sandwich the petals, so i used a knife and cut some away, but the middle seeds started to come out a bit at the edges and some petals fall. BASICALLY i got most of it off and the flower intact and will arrange nice when its done. but should i have done somethign different ? like pluck all the petals ? and arrange after or what ? :o plz help me! i have never pressed anything that is a bit thick at the center before. !!!!many thanks if some1 can share their experience !!! + tips? :D
I don't usually press sunflowers, I cut them when they are new opened and hang them up to dry. I haven't been able to press them either, but maybe you could arrange the petals the way you want them, cut out a couple layers of cardboard with holes the size of the thick part and then try pressing that way, the petals pressed but not the thick part? Would have to be careful that the thick part dried without going bad though. Good Luck.

Q:6th grade girl basketball coach,were going to be playing alot of teams that press alot and i need a easy press breaker for these girls cause we were put into the league late and dont have alot of time to work on it from what little i seen on acouple of teams play last year they play alot of man to man full court with an occasional double team.one advantage i got is i can have 3 or 4 descent ball handlers at the same time.but if i can countinously beat their press and force them to try to slow the game down i can put my best player in,shes hefty but a muscle inside we can shut from outside with no fear cause she boxes out so well shell get the rebound and in result give us 20 pts a game but shes so hefty she cant handle the fast pace game so please help me come up with a soluton thanks
My team used a very easy press break. It's a bit hard to explain, but when it comes together, it works like a dream. - First, you have two players on either side of the court, waiting for the inbound. - Once inbounded, the Passer, steps into the center of the court. - They pass amongst themselves till they find an opening in the press. - Meanwhile, there are two other people standing at about midcourt, on both sides. - The person at midcourt standing opposite the side the ball is on will run to the middle of the floor looking for possible passes. - If the ball is passed to them, he/she can either bring the ball up more or turn, and pass to the opposite side. Press is broken. Sorry, it's very hard to explain. Down below, I made you a picture to illustrate what I mean. X's are your team. Good form is SIGNIFICANTLY MORE IMPORTANT than quantity for lower body lifts. * Squat ups are a pretty neat exercise, but not that commonly used. Lower the squat rack to bench press height. Get under the bar, set up in squat position, and explode up. Slowly lower the bar into the locks or whatever holds it, and after a half second, explode up again. It's important to use enough weight in which you feel the power, but light enough to easy control when lowering and to get a lot of speed of the explode. Be sure to get a lot of protein after these workouts. To see improvement, add 2.5 lb to the squats, deadlifts, hang cleans, and bench press every two workouts (so you should be added about 3.5 lb a week).
