- Q:Hey I have a standard Epiphone Les Paul, and I just bought some brand new Burstbucker pickups online. The one's I bought haven't arrived yet but in the picture, it looks like there is only 1 wire coming out of each pickup. When I take my wire cover off, i can see 1 wire comes out, but it's really 2 wires insulated to look like 1. What can I do so that I can put these expensive pickups in my guitar??

- Q:The wire in my headphones broke right next to the jack plug. I had a pair of crappy earphones that I have cut up as a replacement jack plug but no matter what I do I cant get any response. Is it because headphone wires are not compatible with earphone wires?Thank you
- Wires are wires. They are definitely compatible. The problem is that if the wires you are replace are made of cheap components then the sound quality wont be great. Also if you aren't getting any response then you have either wired it up wrong or you have damaged the speaker drivers and they now no longer work. Make sure you have connected the ground to the ground on the jack and the positive to the positive. Look around on google for a wiring diagram

- U don't need the diagram u can get a plug that plugs to the original wiring on u'r dash port, just ask for it by u'r cars year make and model u can find it at Walmart or whatever car sounds shop for around $10., get a wiring kit of 4 gage cable to power u'r amp around $35., 10 gage is too thin for any amp if u are using it for bass.

- Red white yes, shouldn't need the toggle. It will turn off with the ignition.
- Q:My father changed out a 3 prong plug to a 4 prong plug and crossed the wires by mistake. So the red wire on the plug was connected to the black wire to the dryer and visa-verse. What would happen to the dryer if it is turned on with these wires crossed? Consequently, my dryer's motor is not responding, however the heating element is working. Was there a short? Did the motor get fired?
- Red to black and black to red will make no difference to the dryer. The ground connection and the neutral connection must be in their correct positions. I suspect that you have another problem than the wire colors. Possibly a loose connection in the receptacle or in the terminal in the dryer. Call an appliance repair service, you may need some parts or a new unit.
- Q:I know that a fuse is connected to the live wire. And I was wondering; since a fuse and the circuit breaker are similar, would the circuit breaker also be placed so that both terminals of the circuit breaker are connected to the live wire? If not, would it be connected to a wire that connects a live wire and neutral wire?
- The neutral wire is never connected to to a circuit breaker or fuse. It measures the current passing through the hot wire and opens if the current gets to high. Although the same amount of current passes through the neutral wire, an open breaker or fuse in that wire would let the load be connected to the hot wire but not to ground so you could bet shocked from it.
- Q:ok got the mute wire figured out thanks to yahoo answers people..now i was wondering what the [ ILL] WIRE IS FOR ,ILLUMINATOR FOR SOMETHING?..also which wires on the speaker wires are pos and neg one is solid ,one is solid with stripe..not sure which is pos or neg thanks alot steve
- first answer is correct, However, as long as you keep the solids and stripes consistent, it doesn't really matter if you hook them up negative stripe or positive stripe...just keep them all the same..
- Q:I bought this ceiling lamp, and there are 4 wires coming out of it. One white and one black (positive and negative), a bare copper wire for grounding, but there's also a yellow striped green wire. I was wondering what's the latter one for ?In my ceiling I have the black, white and bare copper wires.I'm Canadian by the way
- Bare and Grn Yel. are both grounds . Just connect one or the other to the 'bare' in the box.
