Q:I have decided to put him in diapers/nappies and all drynites and adult nappies but they just leak I want advice on baby and toddler nappies, I asked him and he has NO problem at all with baby nappies as long as they don't leak like drynites and other nappies. If it affects every fixture in the house than it sounds like the isolation valve is partially closed. The plumber would have shut this off to replace the pipe and probably did not turn it fully back on right away to prevent his fittings from blowing out from water pressure. Check around your hot water heater for a valve on a pipe that feels warm. If it has a lever, the lever must be turned so that it is parallel with the pipe when fully on. If the valve has a knob, turn it counterclockwise until it stops, this is the fully open position. If this problem is isolated to only one fixture, check the stops to the specific fixture to make sure they are fully on. If you have a mixing valve for any of these fixtures, this may need adjusting too. If this doesn't work call the plumber back to repair. It is industry standard to warranty work for at least 1 year.

Unions are fittings that allow local disconnections without having to cut pipe. Most traps do have 'union' fittings - but that is not the proper term. Those are properly slip-nut fittings. Both are linked below. A hard-connected PVC trap is also linked below - such a fitting will not leak if snaked (unless broken, of course). Now, it is quite unlikely that a trap such as you describe would have removable fittings - it is far more likely that the connections are solid - especially as fitted traps are more costly than solid traps and from what you describe your house was done 'on the cheap'. Note also - if you do have to get into the ceiling it would be much better were that trap to be removed and replaced in the proper location directly under the sink. If you can avoid the expense, great. But if not, you will only have to do it once.

That's on the high side but is within the 10 bar(145PSI) capacity of most domestic plumbing pipe/fittings. Just got less leeway with regards to poorly assembled fittings/joints, and slightly damaged pipes. I'd make sure you know where the stop tap is (and that it will turn off!). And perhaps consider a pressure reducing valve, if burst pipe/fittings become a problem.
