Get the staff to make sure the voltage and polarity are correct.

First time? Do it overnight. The first charge usually lasts around 8 hours. Always do your charging at night so you won't have to worry about it. Take note. Every time you stop charging to test the battery in the camera then recharge again, you restart the charging process. The charger has to discharge the battery first before it starts to recharge. Any headway you gained earlier will be lost as you start again from zero.

You can't fix the charger, and they are not cheap either. So just keep it in mind that chargers are not as tough as hey appear, and you should be very careful with them, make sure it's not pulled so that an internal wire doesn't break, and make sure the end that goes into the laptop is no bent because that causes he fuse to break too.
