- The charger socket on the camcorder should show the voltage and polarity you need but you'll need to work out which size of plug you need. Universal chargers are supplied with a variety of plugs so that shouldn't be a problem.

- Do not use the charger if any of the spec.s are different for volts, ohms etc. it can damage your lap top. Does your lap top work OK just plugged into A/C power with the power/charging adapter, if so turn off and shut down your lap top then unplug the A/C Battery charging adapter, remove battery cover and battery. After a few minutes replace the battery and cover, plug it in and power on and see if it is charging if not remove the battery and have tested it maybe shorting out or gone bad. You can use the lap top with out the battery with out doing any harm. Hope this helps

- look at your laptops model name and then you should be able to find a charger off the model name. make sure you get it from a good source not a bad one like OKorder or amazon. for a new charger, you can look online on generic sites but i would personally suggest topmic they are more reliable and have better reputation. you should be able to find them through google search. make sure the specifications is the same as your current charger (connector tip, voltage, amperage, etc). if you have any more questions feel free to send me an email and ill be happy to help (^_^)/!

- You need to split this problem into smaller parts to find the answer. Does your USB charger work with another item? Will your iPod charge from another charger? My charger has 3 components: the mains lead, the charger box and the USB lead. I can check the mains lead on another device and I can plug the USB lead into my laptop to charge my iPod. These are ways to help find which bit has gone wrong. If you put the charger close to your ear while it's working you should hear a faint hum.
