- The charger will have its input voltage marked on a label and probably also in the instruction book. - Hello fergoiz: There are some out there but they are 3rd party manufactured, meaning they are not made by the companies themselves but other people made them to succeed in charging without the laptop. However, the reason why you can't charge the batteries in the first place is because your charger is dieing. It no longer has the ability to power on the laptop and charge the battery. I would definitely suggest you invest in a new charger rather than the external charger since the external charger is probably the same price, if not more, then a charger.
