- Well have you tried using one of the disposable wipes? I have noticed they remove stains well on clothes, but I am not sure about suede..you might want to spot try a section in the back of your sofa to see if it's safe. Or, Armstrong Floor Cleaner is a neutral cleaner with a citrus base that works well on carpeting and doesn't pull up the color. (It's made for floors, but you can use it for other things.)

- A recliner sofa is massive and over sized for just about all spaces let alone an apartment space. I wouldn't do it. And I wouldn't buy a traditional recliner as an accent chair as it is still huge but rather one of the contemporary ones that doesn't look like a recliner. - Not sure about microfiber, but I dumped a candle on the carpet one time. Use a brown paper grocery bag(works better than a paper towel or napkin) and iron it with a clothes iron(no steam) over the spot. Might need a few bags depending on the size of the spot. It worked like a charm for me. It did take awhile and had to flip the bag around a bunch but be patient and it should come out.
