Q: In the last three months I have purchased two separate vacuum cleaners from Wal-Mart.....granted they were cheap...but they were also all I could afford. They have both stopped working...the most recent one I got worked great for about a week ( it cost 40 bucks)..and now it gets so clogged up every time I use it, that its pointless to even try...and it leaves black marks all over my carpet, I have to stop and unclog the hose after only doing half a room....plus it isnt even picking n e thing up!!! I am so fed up.....I can't afford an Orek or a Hoover....is there a cheap vacuum that wont quit on me??? Price range from 50-80 dollars????......Please help!!!: I actually have a shark navigator. Q: Ok so our Dyson hoover has finally given up. We want a new hoover that isn't as heavy as a Dyson. We tried the smaller Dyson's today but they aren't powerful enough because we have 2 pets you see. Q: I'm just curious about how often people vacuum. I have gone through yet another vacuum cleaner in a little over a year. I think it is because I vacuum every day sometimes twice a day and most people I know have vacuums that last years but they only do it once a week...possibly twice a week at the most. Thanks!: Well, around my house I'm big on house rules such as; shoes off at the door, no eating in the living room, and everyone making an effort to clean up after themselves. Also, does anyone know what is the suction power I am looking for for hosehold use.: You need the AMPS to determine the suction power the more AMPS they have the better suction power you'll get- but here is a very, very good vacuum to look into- It is a Bissel Powerforce Bagless Vacuum-my son bought his at Wal-mart and I use his all the time! It has 4 re-usable filters that you can rinse out and an attachment brush that has rotaion on it that I use on my bed and once after I had washed my bed spread it had those little lint pills all over it that I tried to shave off- well I tried this attachment and it took them off like it was nothing! I think he only paid like maybe $100 or less for his and it is now MY favorite vacuum!

Q: The motor turns ok, and my husband couldn't find where the hose was clogged.. we just can't get any suction.It is a Dirt Devil. Upright. Approx 7-8 yrs old.: Vacuum cleaners are simple machines. They only NOT work because the intake line is clogged, the bag is full, the motor doesn't work, or the exhaust vent is clogged. If you can start unhooking hoses and vents, find out what works, then re-attach hoses and vents until something doesn't work. If the motor spins and the bag is replaced, I'll bet you've got a clog in the intake hose. Disconnect it from the rest of the cleaner and jam a garden hose down the length of it. You may dislodge a wad of yuck or a golf ball or sock or something.

Q: Hello! I was wondering if Vacuum cleaners get rid of germs. I mean, when I think about it, doesn't it probably suck all the germs up? Perhaps it may not kill germs, but it at least gets rid of them on a particular surface(like the carpet.)And if they don't get rid of germs, than how can I get rid of germs on the carpet? I know that Steam Cleaning and shampooing the carpet are good measures, but I don't want to do that on like a weekly basis. I am looking for something that can get rid of germs at least once a week.: a vacuum will suck up things like dust mites and other irritants. but if you are thinking about germs then no. the best defense for germs is basic soap and water. but you are right. who wants to wash their carpet every week. also it isn't good for your carpet unless you live in the south and it is summer. that way it will dry completely in just a few hours. there are a few things that come to mind here. you can use a typical disinfecting spray like lysol. or you can use a damp mop and go over the carpet. that also helps with allergens. over all there really isn't much germs in carpet. sun light kills alot of germs. and if you are truly worried about it. then wood floors are always nice.
