- I have a knack for fixing stuff, so a friend bought me book called How To Fix Damn Near Anything. I love it. I'm sure it would be helpful if you can find it.
- Q: No central air or heat, so in winter windows are cracked and in summer windows are screened but opened. I bought the air purifier to help with allergies and after 2 nights it does seem to help, but think I need to go back and get the larger one. This one is for room 10 x 12 and my room is 16 x 13 and is connected to kitchen with no dividing door. Am I fighting a losing battle, or will this unit help pretty bad allergies (I think mostly to dust)? Would love to hear your experiences.P.S. I bought the Holmes brand with Hepa type filter.Thank you.

- Q: Hi there,I know that a lot of bagless vacuums are sold as quot;Cyclonicquot;, but I remember hearing somewhere that only Dysons actually remove all the dirt from the air by cyclonic action, whilst the rest also rely on filters. Is it true that other companies can not (due to patents, etc.) make vacuum cleaners that work in exactly the same way as a dyson, or is it just an urban myth created by clever marketing on the part of dyson?If anyone (in the UK) has a vacuum they think is comparable to a dyson, I'd love to hear about it, cheers.
- I have the Eureka Boss SmartVac and I love it! It does a great job. I have kids, pets, and a husband who works construction, and it gets up all their dirt/dust/hair/etc... The suction is great and it has a switch to turn the beater bar off so you can use it on any hard floor surface. It's not bagless, but I had a bagless before, and I would never have another one again. It's very reasonably priced and I can't see how a Dyson could outclean it. Hope this helps. Good luck!
- Q: I remember reading an interesting quote a while back about the advent of vacuum cleaners (which I think represented modern technology). It basically stated that before vacuum cleaners work was done by hand, and when vacuums were invented the work was done two times faster but because of the dust given off by the vacuum vacuuming had to be done twice as frequently as the manual way of cleaning. - Q: I read somewhere that the company that once manufactured the popular Model XXX canister Electrolux vacuum cleaners (1930s-1950s) is now called Aerus--which makes 'Aerus' or 'Lux' machines. - Q: Because gladiators would want something that is versatile, more powerful, and easy to use. Attachments are more easy to change for when cleaning for furniture or stairs and switching from carpet to bare floor can be done at the handle by turning off the power nozzle, then switching to the bare floor tool. Easy bag and filter change.

- Q: I am currently doing house cleaning and using my clients vaccums, but I am wondering if I should get my own, because they mostly have area rugs and their vacuum cleaners are just too strong, it's almost like the vacuum's are trying to eat the rugs! - I may be in the minority here, but I would prefer that a house keeper, cleaning person use my own sweeper rather than one that has been used in someone else's home. It's one heck of a good way to transmit some not very nice things from one home to another. Things like fleas, bed bugs, dust mites to name a few. We have several throw rugs that the vacuum tries to eat and we just clean those with the hand attachment. Yeah, it requires a little bending over and such but oh well. They are laundered on a regular basis so it's more for pet hair removal than anything else here.
